Magic Villa

4 of 5
We loved our first trip to Eleuthera. Beautiful beaches, sleepy villages, great restaurants and friendly people. Magic Sands is centrally located which made it a good base for exploring the island. The house is spacious, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The porch overlooking the ocean is amazing. We had breakfast there every morning, surrounded by palms, flowering bougainvillea and oleander waving in the ocean breeze. The downside—and this is outside of the owner’s control—was the beach. At the moment it’s all lava rock and pretty much uninhabitable. Just our luck. However, we found that a ten minute walk in either direction took us to nice sandy beaches so it wasn’t so bad. By car, the house is 10 minutes away from fabulous Ten Bay beach—our five-year-old’s favorite—and about 20 minutes from famous French Leave. Apparently these are among the best on the island. The house is also close to Island Farms for fresh bread, vegetables, and cheese; Millard’s and Lakia’s for eggs and milk; and many good restaurants in and around Governor's Harbour. It’s a 90 minute drive to incredible Lighthouse beach at the southern tip of the island—a perfect day trip. Stop by Kinky’s Shell station in Tarpum Bay on the way and you’ll hear some great stories while he fills you up. Sue was helpful with the car, but the house was so well stocked with essentials and beach gear, we really didn’t need to bother her with many questions. Hugh and Margaret have a great spot. Hopefully the sandy beach comes back soon.

Perfect Location! Beautiful Home!

5 of 5
Our family of four (two sons ages 10 and 12) absolutely loved staying at Coconut Point. The weather was perfect. Never too hot or cold. We loved that the house was off the beaten path, but at the same time we were close to grocery stores and restaurants. The house is extremely comfortable and very beautiful. The view from the house and the beach right in front of the house is breathtaking. We usually had the beach all to ourselves. John the caretaker was always available if we needed anything. Because of the central location of Coconut Point on Eleuthera, we were able to explore to the south and to the north very easily in our rental car and so we were able to enjoy many different beaches and towns around Eleuthera. We have traveled in Belize and Costa Rica and have stayed in beautiful places- Coconut Point is right up at the top of the list!

Exceptional Rental

5 of 5
I have stayed at Pura Vida a couple of times already, and for many reasons. The most obvious is the island of Eleuthera itself. All you have to do is look at pictures of the island to see its natural beauty and appeal. What sets Pura Vida apart is the quality of the home and amenities provided. The house sits overlooking beautiful reefs on the atlantic side of the island. Double Bay is by far my favorite stretch of beach on Eleuthera. Being on the atlantic provides a steady breeze in the summer, while the caribbean side gets much hotter. The small keys a ways out from the beach break water to create one of the few places you can get a nice breeze and calm water rich with coral reefs. The house itself is unusually well built and maintained for a rental. It was impeccably clean every time I arrived. All of the appliances are top notch, and there's a nice standing BBQ overlooking the beach perfect for grilling the day's catch (there's excellent fishing on the reefs, just check what's in season.) Plus they've got books on local marine life so you know what your catching. There's a nice TV and sound system with lots of channels, although I have a feeling it doesn't get used much in a place with so many better things to do. High-speed internet is a big plus as well. If you get tired of fishing, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and laying on the beach you can always tour the island, there's lots of great info and maps they leave for you to help with your exploring. They really make it easy to feel at home and relaxed, the ultimate stress-free vacation. You can really tell Cindy and Steve love this home, it shows in every aspect. This is not a typical rental house, but I will continue to go back as long as it remains one. Writing this is just making me ache to return! I hope it won't be long. Clark
