The most amazing vacation we've ever experienced!

5 of 5
We had an amazing time at Kataluma. It was definitely a vacation that we will never forget. We enjoyed the spectacular beach and amazing infinity pool, all day, every day! Kataluma was very spacious, clean and perfect for entertaining. Our family was able to enjoy the amazing living room, the vibrant sound system and endless miles of private beaches. We can't wait to return to Kataluma and will certainly miss it. We will def be back soon!

Paradise Found!

5 of 5
As we drove toward the lush greenery and flowering shrubs along the last sandy lane off the palm-bordered road, we felt as though we had discovered a hidden tropical paradise. And then we saw the amazing view from the veranda and the Tiki Liki. Aqua colored ocean waves crashed on the pink sandy beach. It couldn't get any better! We were delighted to discover three excellent kayaks that took us on many adventures including escapades to the nearby island. There was great snorkel gear which we used in the water in front of the house, and at other reefs. How fun to find sand dollars and to see lovely fish and coral! Magic Sands is a delightful combination of private hidden paradise, and a headquarters for adventure. Thank you Hugh and Margaret! I believe you have thought of everything! Sue, the helpful caretaker offered to buy a few groceries since we were arriving on Sunday after the stores were closed. She also told us a five gallon jug of water was provided as well as a cell phone for our use. We had good service for our Verizon phones, and were grateful for the WIFI which helped us keep in touch with the business at home. We brought a cooler of frozen meat with us, and purchased fresh vegetables, fruits, juice, jerk sauce and home made bread from Island Farms just up the road. The helpful gardener who came twice a week to keep the flowers and grounds looking lovely, cut down coconut for us. We enjoyed visiting James Cistern Wesleyan Methodist Church as well as gorgeous Light House Beach. Ocean Hole was also very intriguing. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well furnished. When the breezes were still at dusk and dawn, we learned to stay inside to avoid the noseeums. How delightful to wake to the lovely views, and then to have the beach all to ourselves. Our 8 days at Magic Sands were all we had hoped for and more. It was a peaceful retreat with gorgeous sunrises and views as well as the launching pad for many exciting explorations and adventures. Our vacation at Magic Sands was one of our favorite ever!

Exceptional Rental

5 of 5
I have stayed at Pura Vida a couple of times already, and for many reasons. The most obvious is the island of Eleuthera itself. All you have to do is look at pictures of the island to see its natural beauty and appeal. What sets Pura Vida apart is the quality of the home and amenities provided. The house sits overlooking beautiful reefs on the atlantic side of the island. Double Bay is by far my favorite stretch of beach on Eleuthera. Being on the atlantic provides a steady breeze in the summer, while the caribbean side gets much hotter. The small keys a ways out from the beach break water to create one of the few places you can get a nice breeze and calm water rich with coral reefs. The house itself is unusually well built and maintained for a rental. It was impeccably clean every time I arrived. All of the appliances are top notch, and there's a nice standing BBQ overlooking the beach perfect for grilling the day's catch (there's excellent fishing on the reefs, just check what's in season.) Plus they've got books on local marine life so you know what your catching. There's a nice TV and sound system with lots of channels, although I have a feeling it doesn't get used much in a place with so many better things to do. High-speed internet is a big plus as well. If you get tired of fishing, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and laying on the beach you can always tour the island, there's lots of great info and maps they leave for you to help with your exploring. They really make it easy to feel at home and relaxed, the ultimate stress-free vacation. You can really tell Cindy and Steve love this home, it shows in every aspect. This is not a typical rental house, but I will continue to go back as long as it remains one. Writing this is just making me ache to return! I hope it won't be long. Clark
