Glenn's house was immaculate, very well stocked, and we loved having access to his kayaks and bicycles. It's an amazing property if you want to get away from it all (although there is WIFI and cable TV) and enjoy the spectacular Cherokee Sound area all day long. The house is the closest one in the settlement to the water. There's a little beach in front and when the tide goes out, you can walk the flats for a long, long way. We gathered lots of lovely shells. The Long Dock is such a great feature; it's the longest wooden dock in the Bahamas. It makes snorkeling at high tide so easy. We also loved taking the kayaks over to Little Bay just around the bend, which had an isolated beach and a long rocky shoreline which was great for snorkeling - we saw sting rays, dolphins, and lots of fish. Right next door to the house is a tidal creek where kids would play and the current rushes in and out under a short wooden bridge. The bikes were great for riding to the store or just around the quaint, little town.
If you want a relaxing getaway, and enjoy snorkeling, swimming, shelling, kayaking, sunning, and cooking/making your meals, then I highly recommend this property. There are no close restaurants (Pete's Pub is not too far but it was closed through October) or bars. We did save a lot of $ by stocking up in Marsh Harbor and eating "at home" during our week. The days went by so fast even though we were just "hanging out". My husband enjoyed talking with the locals in the morning at the bench on The Long Dock. I would love to go back to Cherokee Sound, and I would definitely rent this property again.
