Great value

5 of 5
Stayed at the gate house for 2 weeks and enjoyed the peace and serenity. Lots of breezes come off the Atlantic, I like this kind of "front" over the ones they have been getting at home with -37 degrees!!! the new caretaker went out of his way to ensure our visit was positive including bringing us a new BBQ!!! Due to the winds we were unable to kayak or snorkel out front but with having a car u can always find a spot that is out of the wind! This house meets your basic needs, I refer to is as "our cottage"' lol. If waking up to the sound of waves, sunshine, and the turquoise Caribbean waters.....all within a great price ...this is the spot to be.

Bahamian experience

5 of 5
My wife and I just spent 3 great weeks at the Banana Wind House. It was not our first trip to an out island but out first to Cat. The house is very private and right on the beach. We had our morning coffee on the deck just feet from the surf. A few times, a large herd of goats would wander by. The kitchen in the house is well appointed with everything we needed. Several nights we had a bonfire on the beach with driftwood that had been washed up. Reynolds, the caretaker, was easy to get a hold of if you ever needed anything. Several times we ordered dinner from his wife, Jan, which I would highly recommend. The people of Cat are very friendly and always willing to help. It was a great out island experience and we are planning our trip for next spring.

Sun and Sand

we really needed this vacation, so we were very pleased when we arrived to find this home so beautiful. everything was exactly as discribed. we have rented homes in the bahamas before and in this price range, this is by far the nicest place we've stayed at with the best amenities. fabulous beach! also, it was extremely helpful to be able to rent the owner's vehicle, as vehicle rentals in the islands can be not the nicest. we were advised to bring food along (what ever you can carry) however, we found this to be a pain and not really needed. the grocery stores are modest but if you are not expecting a gourmet grocery, you can easily make do. we used the BBQ every day. the liquor stores are well stocked. if you are looking for a layed back vacation, this is a great place. we hope to go back some day.
