Hill Top

5 of 5
Completely private, quiet hill top location, in beautiful natural woods. Stunning views, the beach was white/pink sand, natural tree shade when needed, with the most beautiful turquoise sea, we had a 16 month old baby who could play at the edge of the sea in the shallow water. All four beaches we visited were completely empty, so if you want to get away from the madding crowd this is the perfect holiday for you, with solar panels and environmentally friendly build. Unforgettable

5 of 5
We shared the house for a week with the in laws, and then, my wife and I indulged for two weeks of alone time, all the time enjoying every single minute of our experience. If you're considering renting the house and are down to a few candidates, stop now. This is it. No really, I mean it. STOP looking ! The house has everything. The Beach ? UNBELIEVABLE ! Perfect. Snorkeling ? Right there at your doorstep. Kayaks, bikes, etc ! Food ? Everything readily accessible, you'll need a car though, but most places on Cat do. But that's easy to manage, Danny King, car renter is your neighbor, he'll deliver the car to your door. You want secluded ? We hardly saw a soul for three weeks. You want to explore ? Cat Island is a gem from one end to the other. Wether you go north to Shanna's cove, best restaurant on the Island, with a nice stroll to Man O'war point, amazing beach at the top of the Island, you can also go south,: stop at Yardie's for an amazing fresh conch salad, climb up to the Hermitage, keep going to the indescribable Old bight beach, all the way down to quaint and charming Greenwood inn (beautiful wild beach), and all the way to Hawk's nest for some diving maybe ? Whatever you're looking for you'll have it. Outside and inside. The house is a destination in itself. Beautifully furnished, amazing looking and very practical kitchen, we loved cooking, hardly ever went out. Perfect deck to all day and into the evening, especially at night. And that's also something to consider. First time on all those trips we've been taking in the Out Islands, my wife and I really were able to spend our evenings out. The screens the owners have put up around the deck are a stroke of genius. Otherwise, the bugs do get pesky at night. Both rooms with their outdoor showers, and where would you want to take a shower in this tropical paradise ? On top of that, the owners were amazing at communicating every single detail about the house and the tips on the island. Let's also mention Debby, our very helpful and charming housekeeper. I'm telling you stop looking, you're here !

Bahamian experience

5 of 5
My wife and I just spent 3 great weeks at the Banana Wind House. It was not our first trip to an out island but out first to Cat. The house is very private and right on the beach. We had our morning coffee on the deck just feet from the surf. A few times, a large herd of goats would wander by. The kitchen in the house is well appointed with everything we needed. Several nights we had a bonfire on the beach with driftwood that had been washed up. Reynolds, the caretaker, was easy to get a hold of if you ever needed anything. Several times we ordered dinner from his wife, Jan, which I would highly recommend. The people of Cat are very friendly and always willing to help. It was a great out island experience and we are planning our trip for next spring.
