Our family of 5 (3 kids between ages 9-13) stayed in the 2 bdr cottage and we loved it. It's noteworthy to mention that the prices on the listing are for renting out all four (4) cottages (2 x 2bdr and 2 x 1bdr). The cottage itself is clean and comfortable. It sits atop of a hill just 50 yards away from the Atlantic and it backs up to a small Cape. The evening breeze is incredible and the view of the stars is incredible! The kids had fun exploring the island, jumping off of the dock with the island kids, swimming, and snorkeling. The island itself is small and everyone there was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The landlady, Ida, was so generous with her time and knowledge. She took care of any arrangements we needed. She has a few boats available for rent and she arranged for a guide. He took us to swim with the pigs, iguana island, ThunderBall grotto, Staniel Cay, Compass Cay to swim with the tame nurse sharks, and a few great snorkeling spots. Hanging out with the pigs was amazing. We discovered that they know how to "sit" on command. The ThunderBall grotto was beautiful and full of fish. We didn't haves the the guts to jump from the top into the grotto but it was fun watching others do it. We enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to go back and do it again three days later. The boat is available for rent without the guide as well and since the waters are peaceful and shallow is was easy to get around the nearby Cays.
The island is remote so if you are looking for urban nightlife this isn't the place, but I can't think of a better place to relax, enjoy each other's company, take in the beautiful scenery and get an authentic Bahama experience this is the place. Even though we started and ended our vacation with a couple of days in Nassau (and while we certainly had fun there) our stay in Black Point Exuma Cay was the highlight of the trip. I highly recommend taking the extra trip from Nassau to Black Point to stay in Ida's cottages.
