Beautiful home & view!

5 of 5
I just stayed here for 3 days last weekend with five friends and would echo the review by Patricia B. The home and the beach were incredible but getting there was a bit of a clusterage. Once we landed in Bimini we stumbled on to the taxi to the ferry dock (taxi was $5.00 each). You have to take the water ferry ($3.00 each) from South Bimini where the plane lands to North Bimini where the house is. After landing in North Bimini "Max" the local contact was supposed to meet us but was a no show. A taxi driver took us to Bimini World Resorts at the Hilton believing that that was where we were to check in. But this is a private home in Bimini World Resorts and not handled by Bimini World Resorts booking. After over an hour and several stops we finally got a hold of Max and he told us the number of the house (#204) and the code to get in. Not exactly a smooth entry for people who just want to get to their place and chill. So....make sure you get all the details of how to get from the airport to the water ferry, to North Bimini , the exact directions to the house and the code to get in or your first two hours upon arrival will be very frustrating. Everyone kept saying, "Just call us" but no one in our party had international calling plans on their cell phones so there was no way to call anyone. We rented a six seater golf cart from the taxi driver (Milton and his taxi Boom Boom) for $100.00 per day. Apparently this was a reasonable rate. The 4 seaters were supposedly $80.00 per day. If you want to do anything (tour the island, get groceries and liquor, or eat at anywhere other than the resort) you HAVE to have a golf cart. Otherwise, after finally getting settled in to the house, the rest of the weekend was glorious. We could have stayed a month! This was probably one of the nicest houses I have ever stayed in for a trip and wish I was rich to stay longer next time! Enjoy the friendliness of the natives, ask where to go, (CJ's for cracked conch and conch fritters,,,best on the island) and Stuart Conch Salad for the best conch salad I've ever had in my life! This was my third time to Bimini - just wish we had a boat with us because there is so much to see off the island too. Check out the North end of the island. There is a path that goes on for ever through the mangroves and just a empty beach...and to it before they put up a parking lot...

Home away from home!

5 of 5
First off- Dan is amazing!! He did anything it took to ensure our stay was a great one! The condo has amazing views, and is in an ideal location on the resort. One thing we didn't know when we booked was that this condo is located on a resort...so you have all the perks of a resort, or you can choose to shop locally and be part of bimini local life. We decided to fly in, however, next time, we will be taking the super fast, as its walking distance to the condo. Everything on the island is very expensive, and the grocery stores had limited supply of food, so it was not ideal for our family of 5, however my husband and i would go back in a heartbeat without the kids :) Suggestions: Rent a golf cart-and explore the island! Eat at Sabor on the resort (amazing food!) Best conch salad- Stuarts. Buy the best bimini bread locally at-Charlies bread or A taste of heaven. Beautiful spot- thanks again Dan for a great week!

Charming condo with awesome ocean view.

5 of 5
We so enjoyed this unit with its seascape decor, right across from the ocean and Infinity pool at Resort World Bimini. It was so comfortable with everything we needed. The owner and her daughter were delightful when they stopped by to bring upgrade, making sure it was a convenient time for us. Resort World Bimini is a lovely location with marina, restaurants, casino and picturesque beaches with crystal clear aqua water, BUT the customer service throughout the resort is outrageous poor. We found every employee glued to their cell phone and acting as though they were being inconvenienced if you wanted to ask a question at front desk, get served at a restaurant, order a drink at poolside bar, or checkout at a store. The front desk charged $2000 to our charge card, though we had prepaid for the unit and no one, not even the manager, would or could explain why. Was it a security deposit, a mistake, a resort hold for incidentals? We got no information , just a reply that it would be removed when we got home. It took a week, but finally it has been removed. The restaurants are open sporadically, and we couldn't find anyone who knew their hours or days. We would see one open, run to the condo to change, get back to restaurant to find it closed by 6..We did eat at the Casino one night, with slow service, brown and withered salad, tough meat and high price. We also tried to eat at seaside restaurant across from check in, but had to go look for our waiter a couple times after 30 min had passed to ask for drink refills, or the check. Food poor. Overall, just enjoy the pools and beaches but go elsewhere to eat or plan cook in. The one saving grace of the resort is Bimini Undersea tours that leave from the dock. We had the time of our lives snorkeling the wreck and swimming with the Sharks. Great crew! It took us 2 days to catch their desk open, though, and however we caught them coming in from a dive and made all the arrangements. So glad we did! We had some wonderful meals in town, don t miss Edith s lobster pizza! A golf cart rental is a must. And the towns people were all friendly with great service. We also found Big Game Resort and restaurant helpful and tasty. Bring a cooler with basic supplies as the grocery stores are barren, only on Thurs do they have decent fresh fruits and seem well stocked, but most sell out by the evening. No meats. There are many small markets inc one at resort. We definitely plan to go back and hope this condo will be open!
