A wonderful place to stay

5 of 5
We spent six nights in Votivflat this summer and it was the ideal base for exploring Vienna. Monica and Christian were incredible hosts helping with every question we had. The flat was very comfortable for a family of five and had lovely linens, beautiful windows and everything we could possibly need. It was an easy walk to the subway and trams and a quick ride to the tourist sights in the centre (but so nice to leave those behind at the end of the day.) If we ever get the chance to return to Vienna, we would choose a flat of Monica's and Christian's before any other place to stay and we have already recommended it to our family and friends.

Spacious, Quiet, Superb Location

5 of 5
We spent a week at Sonata and couldn’t have been more pleased with what we found there. The apartment was well-cared for, well-furnished, and had a well-equipped kitchen. Christian was an excellent host, giving us a thorough tour of the apartment and much useful information on important services and attractions. Not only is the apartment close to good groceries and restaurants, but almost everything that you might want to do in the city is walkable. We were only on the subway once in seven days. Walking out of the apartment, you’re in the center of the shopping and museum districts within 2 minutes. Yet, because the center of the city is partly turned over to pedestrian walkways, you’re not surrounded by heavy traffic. Vienna is a gem and so is Sonata. We’d go back in a second.

Mani's District 9 Apartment

5 of 5
To give perspective, I am an experienced traveler from the USA who has been using VRBO the last few years. I stayed 10 days in Mani's apartment in December. I think I was the first person in there after it was remodeled and furnished. The photos and Mani's description are accurate. It really is 2.5 Min. from the U-4 line and minutes from everything in the historic city center. If you intend to spend most of your time there, you can't do better than this property for location. I felt safe walking around the area even late at night (just remember you are in a big cosmopolitan city). Note that Wien Mitte is also called "Landstrasse" on the CAT train info. lest you get confused. For 2012 the CAT train station is undergoing a complete reconstruction so the transfer to the U-4 is kind of an adventure. The property is in a 100 year old block characteristic of the whole district. It has a lift that drops you at the front door of the apartment. The apartment faces the inner courtyard and has 2-ft. thick brick walls. This was the quietest place I have every stayed. I only encountered two people in the building in 10 days, although several permanent residences are there. In the winter the water heater must run to circulate water through the radiators, but you get used to it. The furnishings are modern minimalist, couch and bed very comfortable (for the Americans its not your Certa posturpedic). The kitchen is functional, well stocked and the bathroom has a new shower in it. Something to do is turn left upon exiting the door of the building, Turn right at the corner and in a block you will encounter a floor-to-ceiling "Altesware" (antique) store. Even if your'e not into that, do it anyway, keep walking to the Zielpunct, restaurants etc. Mani was very responsive and friendly and easy to work with. He always answers his phone, so you have an excellent connection as needed. If you are into immersion but want the quiet place to rest, this is ideal. I highly recommend this apartment and Mani's service along with it.
