Recent Aruba Reviews

Quiet, peaceful, relaxing.

4 of 5
Our family of 4 stayed at Rancho Azul from July 22-August 1, 2014. 2 teenagers and 2 adults. We loved the house and especially the pool. The current owners of this property aquired it in April of 2014. We were provided with a GPS for our rental car at no cost by the owners, with Rancho Azul programmed as "Home". As this was our first visit to Aruba, it proved invaluable in helping us to get to the house when we arrived in Aruba, and getting around the island. The pool was cleaned twice while we were there, and is in great shape, with multi colored lights for night time enjoyment. As stated in previous reviews, during the day with the windows closed the house gets hot. We would just open the windows when we got home, and as there is always a good breeze blowing the air circulation would cool down quickly, but we didn't really spend much time sitting inside. If we were at the house we were outside or getting ready to go somewhere. The bedroom air conditioners were quick to cooldown the bedrooms, with the smallest bedroom with the smallest air conditioner having the hardest time cooling it down, but it would do the job after a few hours. The washer/dryer are new, and worked great. The stainless steel refridgerator was fine. The outdoor grill was outstanding, as it was fairly new and in great shape. The 4 burner gas stove in kitchen has a movable cast iron rectangular skillet where we did some cooking also. The pictures on the website are a little outdated, the canvas shade hooked to 4 posts is now a pergola with no shade. There is a small rental cottage next to the Rancho Azul property, but it is seperated by the house and a fence when out at pool, and we never noticed it. The outside shower and bathroom were nice to have. When we had to call the management company about a window problem we had, they were very quick to respond, and their property caretaker (Stewart) was very helpful, both with the house and with island information. The Wi-Fi was a little underpowered, perhaps a stronger router would help get the signal farther from the Master Bedroom where it was located, along with a PC for guest use. We liked the location, which really is just minutes from the high rise area, but out in the country. The house has a security system, but we never used it. We felt very safe, and the house is in a nice, normal development. To sum it all up, we would definately recommend Rancho Azul, and we will certainly stay there again on our next visit.

This is no 5 star hotel which why it is perfect!!!

5 of 5
We stayed for a week in one of their small garden rooms. For two of us this was perfect. Some of the small things they provided which was possibly on their site but we missed were: Two large grills in the public area, two cute cats (Rusty and Tiger) that show their bellies when you pass them, a large group sized gazebo with chairs around a table and string lights. Features we did know about that were just perfect, the pool/hot tub, some of the best island snorkeling literally across the street, very nice staff, lovely courtyard etc. They also allow access to their laundry area to take and drop off bath/beach towels, washcloths etc as needed. This was perfect for us since we do not need our room made up everyday, we just wanted new towels. The hotel is easy to get to, close to the best things and totally removed from the crowds. We laughed when we saw how crowded the big hotels were especially since we compared the prices. There is a great grocery store 5 min away that will serve all of your needs. Super Food Aruba has a great selection of local tastes as well as European and American foods. While we did eat out some, we mostly cooked in the room at a fraction of the cost. When we go back, there is no question where we will stay.

We had an awesome time!

5 of 5
We had an absolute blast in Aruba. We arrived to find the house just as it was described - very clean, fully stocked kitchen, beautiful pool and convenient to grocery stores and Eagle/Palm Beach as well as the northern beaches i.e. Malmok and Arashi. There were 5 adults on the trip who stayed for a week and the house was large enough that we didn't feel like we were in each other's way. Francois was extremely helpful from the time we booked the reservation and throughout our stay. He was only a phone call away if we needed him while we were there. You will need to rent a car if you plan to do any sightseeing. We visited several of the major attractions - from the California lighthouse in the north to the Carubbean festival down in San Nicholas. The Alto Vista Chapel and natural bridge are both a must-see!! And if you're up for casual dining by the ocean, you must visit the Zeerover Restaurant in San Nicholas! Mmm mmm good! Although we could have used the A/C more often, we chose to rely on the constant breeze coming through the windows/patio doors. There are stray dogs and other animals in the area, but not too many to be a nuisance. We would definitely recommend this location to visitors to Aruba. Francois is a great property manager. We wish we could have stayed longer. It was our little piece of heaven!
