A lovely bright and airy retreat!

4 of 5
We spent a lovely week at Villa Chuchubi and really enjoyed the Villa with all it had to offer. The private back yard with pool and palapa is priceless and every evening we had "pool time"" after a day spent exploring the island. Chuchubi is convenient to the hotels and restaurants at Palm Beach, and a few minutes drive from Orangestad. The house itself is open, spacious and has all the amenities you'd expect in a vacation home. We were able to cook meals, Bar-b-que on the patio and spend time relaxing around the pool, all the while not paying hotel prices for food and drink. It was everything we anticipated and more. We would definitely recommend Chuchubi to future visitors to Aruba, especially if you want the privacy and relaxed atmosphere a rental home can provide. One caveat is that one will need a rental car to get to the beaches, hotels and restaurants without a relatively long walk. Thank you Sue and Paul Gibbs!

This is no 5 star hotel which why it is perfect!!!

5 of 5
We stayed for a week in one of their small garden rooms. For two of us this was perfect. Some of the small things they provided which was possibly on their site but we missed were: Two large grills in the public area, two cute cats (Rusty and Tiger) that show their bellies when you pass them, a large group sized gazebo with chairs around a table and string lights. Features we did know about that were just perfect, the pool/hot tub, some of the best island snorkeling literally across the street, very nice staff, lovely courtyard etc. They also allow access to their laundry area to take and drop off bath/beach towels, washcloths etc as needed. This was perfect for us since we do not need our room made up everyday, we just wanted new towels. The hotel is easy to get to, close to the best things and totally removed from the crowds. We laughed when we saw how crowded the big hotels were especially since we compared the prices. There is a great grocery store 5 min away that will serve all of your needs. Super Food Aruba has a great selection of local tastes as well as European and American foods. While we did eat out some, we mostly cooked in the room at a fraction of the cost. When we go back, there is no question where we will stay.

Truly a "Home Away From Home"!

5 of 5
How can I possibly express in words how we felt upon opening the door to this fabulous villa! It's even better than it looks in the pictures! We wanted to experience the island in a more laid back way than in a timeshare or hotel. This was the perfect place to do just that. It was so nice to relax and enjoy our vacation with the children. We really loved having the quiet pool to come home to after a day exploring or at the beach. This house is in a lovely neighborhood that is literally minutes from beaches and landmarks. It was so cool to be outside drinking our coffee in the morning and hearing the rooster crowing! Our son was trying to spy any iguanas over the wall when he wasn't in the pool and the girls and I had such fun cooking in the beautiful modern kitchen! I was admittedly taken aback by the smaller than I'm used to oven, but we had NO problem preparing meals for our family of 5 in it! It actually cut our cooking time in half! There is a little grocery store right around the corner and Super Food is a 5 minute drive. I could go on and on about the positives all day. (The only negative was that we had to leave!) But the bottom line is this. We felt as if we were staying in a family home. Peter and Helen really have thought of everything! Thank you again for sharing your home with us! We are hoping to be able to stay at Aruba Paradise Villa again next year!
