I booked this home for my family vacation because the pictures looked good, the location seemed good, and the owner’s other 3 properties in Aruba all had 5-star reviews. We picked a great one! My family and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful home and have already started planning next year’s trip!
The living, dining, and kitchen area is open and spacious, although we spent most of our time on the patio and in the pool. The jetted Jacuzzi was a great bonus! There’s a pergola for lounging and dining and you get a great view of the kite surfers just sailing through the water and going 20, 30, 40 feet in the air all day long. The turquoise water is amazing! In the evening, the sunset is absolutely stunning. As the sun sets behind the beach and palms, the sky lights up in a rich orange glow before slowly turning hot pink and purple. You just have to see it!
One night when my family was out, my husband cooked us a delicious dinner of fresh grouper. We ate at a candle-lit table for two atop the pergola. A glass of wine, a beautiful sunset, and wow!
Anyway, the sleeping arrangements were great. The beds were very comfortable and all 9 of us had plenty of room with some to spare. The place was spotless. It was a short drive to the beaches. There’s about a 4-mile strip with 5 or 6 different beaches. Hadicurari beach was our favorite and the closest, but the beaches go for miles, so you can go as far as you like. Mike, the homeowner, provides beach chairs and a cooler and we brought our music, books, beach towels, etc. It’s a lot to walk with, so we were very happy we decided to rent a car. Arashi Beach and Eagle Beach were really nice, too.
Mike gave us top-10 lists for restaurants, must-see activities, and “things you should do that most people don’t know about.” That’s where we got the idea to drive from the house toward the California light house and around the tip of the island. The dirt road took us past the sand dunes and rocky eastern coast, which were beautiful, and down to the gold mine ruins and the Natural Bridge. There are some beaches with waves you can stop by along the way, too. It was a great and surprisingly easy excursion. We saw some Jeeps and ATVs, but our little car did just fine. As far as restaurants, the food and atmosphere at Papiamento were amazing!
So, I highly recommend this home and can’t wait to go back! Mike, I will be e-mailing you dates for next May soon!
