My husband and I recently rented this house over the Christmas break for 2 weeks. The first week we were just the two of us, and the second week we had another couple join us.
The one thing to note - the house is not a stand alone house..its a "casita"…so it is actually attached to another main house (I think it maybe a converted garage?) The main house also is a separate rental.
Over the first 5 days of our stay, we had small issues each day. Each time I emailed Mercedes and she was very prompt at responding.
The pool was a great addition to the house, however due to the wind that blew all day every day, it got very dirty very quickly and required cleaning (daily in my opinion) However, the pool cleaning was only twice in 7 days, meaning by day 2 there was a large brown ring around the pool (like you would see in a bathtub) with leaves, branches, bugs, and sometimes crabs in the pool. As well, there was a somewhat large iguana that would come out each day and leave us a large "surprise" on the pool deck each day (right on the ledge of the pool, with some of it running into the pool).
The house was set up good, most items in working order. The toaster was broken and did not work and the oven was a NG one with no directions on how to start it (missing manual) Mercedes ensured we received a new toaster for our morning toast and Lis (the house manager) showed me how to light the oven. She is great.
The house is advertised for 4-6, but there are only lounge chairs for 2. This seemed odd to me, and I asked to have 2 more when our friends arrived. The answer was no. We looked to buy 2, but the price is very expensive so our friends sat on the pool deck. As well, there were 2 "bag" chairs that you could take to the beach. However, the chairs are in such bad state (ripped to the point of being useless) so we just used our beach towels to take to the beach. The Wifi worked great, that was a great thing.
The AC quit with error code on the machine during the 2nd week of our stay. I emailed Mercedes, to which I received a quick response and the AC repair man arrived about 2 days after I logged the issue. However, they took the remote control when they left (they put it in their pocket), so I had to email Mercedes again to ask them to return it. I receive no response, however 2 days later we found the remote totally by accident on the table just over the brick wall (so the AC repair guy must have come by and threw it on the outside table)
