Beautiful and Relaxing

5 of 5
First of all, Jake is an awesome owner to deal with. He responds quickly to your questions and helps with whatever he can help with. The condo was spacious and well maintained. This was our first trip to Aruba; our whole family went to celebrate a couple of milestone birthdays; we chose this condo for the price, reviews and the fact that it had 3 BRs and 3 Baths. We were all very comfortable and had plenty of room. The north side of the island is by far the nicest in our opinion and the gated community of this condo is very well manicured and the pools were sparkling clean. In fact there is a pool steps from the beautiful back patio of the condo. The only negative would be the internet issue; I thought internet was available in the condo but you actually cannot access internet without purchasing a card from the Setar store or you can purchase online from www.wifi-aruba.com However, the hotspot to access their network is not available in the condo, you need to drive or walk to the larger pool by the main gate for access. A bit inconvenient but at least you can access it if critical. The cost is $35 for the week and the speed isn't anything like in the states but it works. It's a quick drive to the beautiful Arashi beach (less then 5 min) So there isn't an ocean view but it's close. There were beach towels and everything you need for the beach was provided (except sunscreen) which was very convenient! Also the washer/dryer came in handy. Note - do not buy bottled water, it is very expensive and the tap water actually tastes better. Overall a wonderful vacation; we will be returning!

A Quiet Gem

If big hotel zones, crowded beaches and pools, and lots of costly cab rides and restaurant meals are not your idea of a heavenly vacation, then you'll love this condo, as we did. THE UNIT: Very modern, clean and comfy, with a kitchen for those who love to make their own healthy, wonderful meals. Read the listings - everything is accurate. It also has a small laundry room with a washer. The whole place is lovely and well maintained. While there is no Office, per se, the concierge is always available by cell phone or in person overseeing the units and grounds throughout the day. The owner keeps in contact by email and is always accessible. They are very kind, attentive and helpful. If you know even a little Spanish, it's all the more easy and fun. It's all gated, so you'll need your key to leave and return. LOCATION: You are just about a block and a half from the beach. And it is astounding: a wide-open section of Eagle Beach between nice, quiet timeshare properties. Even in high season, we had so much space on the sand and in the surf! The timeshares have palapas (shade stands) which are public. You can use your unit's beach chairs under them, but just not the timeshares' furniture. On the main street, you can walk to nice, reasonable restaurants and handy shops in either direction. GETTING AROUND: We took a cab from the airport to the property ($25-30 for 4 people and lots of bags). The cabbie was very informative about the island and its ways. We soon rented a car because we needed supplies from the big grocery stores (making 3 meals almost each day, plus Balashi beer for the guys), and we wanted to explore the island throughout our stay. It was worth it and we'd do that again. The concierge can help you rent a vehicle, or go to La Quinta's office a short walk away. WE LOVED: The unit and grounds and pool area, renting gear next door at AquaWindys and driving up to Malmok & Arashi Beaches for awesome snorkeling, going up to the lighthouse and checking out the wild side of the island, walking over to the Costa Linda for awesome half-price happy hour and early bird specials--right on the beach. La Quinta's outdoor bar was fun too. WON'T DO NEXT TIME: Shopping or driving downtown when cruise ships are in, exploring the high-rise hotel complexes and restaurants (interesting, but too crazy for us), or visiting the Balashi Brewery and Baby Beach (disappointing for such a long drive). THANK YOU ENZO, CYBIL, DIRIMA AND CREW!

A Home Away from Home!

5 of 5
I have been meaning to write this review since we returned home from Aruba this past November. It was our first trip to Aruba and our first time using VRBO so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Needless to say, My Husband and I and our 3 year old son had a wonderful stay. Lisa (the owner) was very pleasant and helpful, promptly answering any of our questions and concerns. The unit was very clean and nicely furnished with full kitchen supplies. We purchased our groceries at Superfoods (a huge store, well stocked with a diverse food selection). Traveling as a family it was nice to have a peaceful morning breakfast then we would pack our cooler with snacks and drinks and load into the rental car right outside the unit for a day of exploring and relaxation. We had no trouble finding parking at any of the beaches and it was free (though we were traveling in early November). The grounds were well landscaped with a community pool and BBQ area only a stones throw from our unit. The property maintenance staff and gate staff were all very friendly. After exploring many parts of the island including the high-rise area and the low rise Eagle beach area, I feel we made the best choice staying in the Gold Coast. Although this unit is not right on the beach, if you have a rental car the location is perfect….close to everything yet peaceful and relaxing. Although Eagle Beach is by far the largest swimming beach with wonderful sand and gorgeous water, I think one of my favorite spots was the tiny little cove beach (Boca Catalina) just a 1-2min drive from the unit were you could enjoy both snorkeling and swimming. Although, you will want to get there pretty early in the morning to secure one of there few shade umbrellas. Late morning, it is a popular spot for snorkeling excursions and you will see many catamarans moored just off shore. We also loved Arashi beach a little further north just before California light house. This beach was a little rocky in spots but still great for swimming and not nearly as busy as Eagle and Palm beaches. We highly recommend this place and would love to return in the future! Thanks Lisa and sorry again for the delayed review.
