I cannot say enough good things about this property. To begin with the setting and grounds are truly spectacular. The grounds were well groomed with beautiful perennials and other shrubbery fully surrounding the house. The grass was exceptionally well groomed and was a joy to play ball with my dog in the numerous grassy areas. Being a fly fisherman, the location right on the river was incredible. The flows were a bit high this week for wading, but I managed to pick up some fish from the dock and the boat ramp area. That being said, if you want to go out with a guide, I'll echo the recommendation of Keith Chism. The guy is good and knows the river like the back of his hand. I was really impressed with his capabilities. Regarding the house, it had everything we needed for a week long vacation. The kitchen was large and had plenty of room for preparation. We more or less found everything we need to prepare meals. The grill worked just fine had no issues with steaks, etc. The décor was classical and very comfortable. We had a few rainy days so we spent a little more time inside than we had hoped. The game room in the garage is a really nice plus. We played plenty of pool and foosball. (Not so good with ping pong...)
Plenty of things to do in the area. We spent some time down in the Ozark National Forest. Two big lakes are nearby and full of places to rent boats. All sorts of good day trips if you so desire. I would also suggest stopping by the Berry Farm which is near one of the intersections on the way to the house. No berries, but we did purchase some great fresh asparagus.
The great thing about this place is you can do as much or as little as you desire. Working with John and Michelle was easy and painless and the whole vacation was exactly what I needed thanks to the wonderful hosts. Don't hesitate to book this place for a great White River getaway.
