Clean, warm, and family-friendly!

5 of 5
Our family decided to spend Spring Break at this lovely townhouse so that we could be near our college student at the University of Arkansas. The drive to the house was exciting because there are rolling hills, wildlife, a one-way bridge, and quaint towns (things we don't often see in Texas). The neighborhood that the house is located in is extremely well-kept and the views are peaceful and relaxing. The house itself was superbly furnished both in furniture and accessories. We felt like we were right at home! The kids enjoyed the upstairs bedrooms with the girls sharing the bedroom with a cute little reading nook, and the boys sharing the twin bed loft area. Our master bedroom was well-appointed and the morning view was simply breathtaking! Since I cooked evening meals, I was very much appreciative of the stocked kitchen. They had supplied every type of pan/bowls/utensils needed to cook my college boy some home-cooked meals. I know that was a special treat for him! We were able to take walks every evening and morning. The kids rode the bikes around the neighborhood and visited with the "locals". We would have loved to have used the kayaks, but the weather was still a bit chilly. We did enjoy our picnic lunches at the marina, skipping rocks in the river, and geo-caching around the island (there are several in the area). The herd of deer in the evening and early morning are a special treat! If you like quirky, we saw several fun things close by: the abandoned dinosaur park, the somewhat creepy 10 ft. waving bunny, and the roaming buffalo. Eureka Springs is also very close and a fun place to spend the day. We also spent a day in Bentonville (eat at Crepes Paulette) and at Devil's Den (eat at the Catfish Hole in Fayetteville) while waiting for the college boy to get out of class. There is much more to do on the island: playgrounds, basketball courts, swimming pool, fishing, etc., so definitely something for everyone. Overall, this is a great home with a great location! The owners are very friendly and had provided everything that we would need. We would definitely stay here again!
