Sunrise, Sunset: Inside and Out a Beautiful Place to Stay

5 of 5
This morning was the first morning in 7 days that we have not awoken to the sunrise colouring the Arizona sky. The view from the incredibly comfortable bed at the Glass Cottage was a joy every single morning. We have been travelling in a VW Westfalia for the past six months (www.folksblogen.com) which means we have been living in our van, always with a different incredible landscape surrounding us. The Glass Cottage was a perfect transition from our bright and airy van because the glass walls of the cottage nearly erase the line between inside and out except that we were always comfortable no matter the temperature outdoors. One might think that people travelling in a simple van for six months would be quite easy to please but truthfully we will not just stay anywhere...we are pretty picky. We truly enjoyed cooking and dining in this beautiful space while enjoying the mountains, skyline, saguaro and other cacti of the surrounding desert. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend the Glass Cottage to our friends and family. We are grateful that James was able to squeeze us into his otherwise full calendar. We miss the Glass Cottage!!

Desert House Hunting

5 of 5
We rented the Bunkhouse while looking for a house to buy in the Picture Rocks area. Lou and Oz are wonderful hosts, with loads of great information to share. The Bunkhouse is immaculately kept and was the ideal place for our house hunting adventure. Thanks to our ace realtor, Casey Yanez, we bought a house and Casey closed the deal and got possession in ten days. The two week trip was a success and we have three new Tucson friends!

Great Launch Point for Tucson Adventures

5 of 5
Stayed at this property for the Tour de Tucson and Thanksgiving. Extremely nice accommodations and the property managers were great! Sam Hughes is an historic neighborhood with convenient services - grocery, restaurant and a bike shop (which came in handy). Easy access to U of A campus, downtown, Santa Catalina hiking and airport. Casita was quiet and we had no interaction with the folks living in the main house. Kitchen was very usable and what couldn't be prepared using hot plate and microwave was done on the grill. Very cool to stand on the patio with a glass of wine and watch the solar panels send excess power back to the grid! Will definitely stay here again.
