We Were So Lucky to Find This Place

5 of 5
We can't say enough good things about this place! It's perfectly located a short distance off I-10 on the north end of Tuscon in a very quiet and scenic area. The home is nicer than even the pictures show online, and the pictures are great! Carella, the owner of the house, welcomed us with a fruit basket that was a nice treat as we arrived in the late evening after a long drive from San Diego. She has thought of everything you wish every owner would think of in a VRBO home. There are plenty of books, movies, hiking guides, and details of things to do in Tuscon. You are close (within 30 minutes) to many major Tuscon attractions including the Sonora Desert Museum and the PIMA Air & Space Museum. Approximately 40 minutes from the base of Mt. Lemmon. Starbucks is less than 5 minutes and grocery, Target, & restaurants within 10 minutes. (less if you catch the traffic lights correctly) The little things we enjoyed were having spices in the kitchen and condiments in the refrigerator for meals. The bedding was luxurious and very comfortable. (the sheets were heavenly!) The back of the house faces Mount Lemmon which rewards guests with beautiful sunrises every day through the breakfast window. A gorgeous porch looks onto the beautiful landscape and is perfect for taking in a book or enjoying nature. Hummingbirds were feeding as well as some native birds every morning. The pool was a welcome relief and refreshingly cool during our stay. The house is large enough for families to just stay home and enjoy. We took one day just to watch college football and enjoyed the house for what Carella intended, a place to relax and restore. For our family, this is the home by which every VRBO property will be judged in the future. I felt the price was a great value for the amount of space you enjoy. DISCLAIMER: I know my review is complimentary but if you're the type of person who wants the latest, greatest granite counter tops and brand new cabinets, this won't be for you. It's definitely beautiful, but it's not the Ritz hotel. We didn't want that kind of atmosphere in our stay, we wanted a place to feel like a refuge, and Carella's Casita definitely fit the bill. If we ever visit Tuscon again, this is where we will stay.

THE PERFECT PLACE

5 of 5
Thanks Rich for an amazing 3 week stay at your beautiful, idyllic, peaceful, super clean, quiet too lovely for words house. It was wonderful looking at the foothills and watching the butterflies and the view of the Catalina Mountains. Could not believe how quiet it was as it is on an estate. Convenient for everywhere short drives to supermarkets and for site seeing, Did have a slight problem with the spa but Rich was straight there sorting it out, thank you. Would recommend to everyone, just simply PERFECT in every way.

Comfortable home in a quiet, friendly neighborhood

5 of 5
I stayed in this house along with my adult daughter and her toddler daughter for 4 months while in treatment for cancer. The house had the comforts of home in a convenient location close to shopping, restaurants, medical services, family and friends. The view of the Catalina Mts and Tucson were breath-taking, and the nature trails and open spaces added to the healing nature and peacefulness of the home. The owner was quick to respond when needed. She promptly allowed us to turn one bedroom into a room for my granddaughter, and I was allowed to have my dog with me, too. It's an ideal place to stay for a vacation or as a healing retreat. The backyard has great views and includes a new grill for barbecuing. The automated shades for the windows keep the house much cooler during the heat of the summer days. The Foothills Mall is close by. For golfers, there are 2 golf courses within 5 minutes. My favorite restaurants were Harvest in Oro Valley and Wildflower near Oracle and Ina. The Omni Resort has a great Sunday brunch, too. I would certainly recommend this house to family and friends.
