We are snowbirds traveling in an RV who needed extra space when our two adult children visited us over the Christmas holidays. And this place delivered. It was beautiful: Spanish mission style with 10 foot ceilings, wooden beams, a gas fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a very nice kitchen with gas range and stainless, double-door fridge. There was even a stacked washer/dryer just off the kitchen. The unit was squeaky clean, beds were comfortable, the decor pleasing, and we quite enjoyed the 2nd floor porch pictured to the right. As well, the owners left a note inviting guests to enjoy one of the bottles of wine on racks in the kitchen. Outside and all around the development, the landscaping was understated, but lovely. And the few other residents we met were friendly and helpful. Overall, the unit and the experience far exceeded our expectations.
Tubac itself is quite interesting and so is the adjacent Tubac Presidio State Park. Lots of artists, shops, and restaurants in town made strolling a pleasure.
The only negatives:
1. The internet never worked, though we did ask about it.
2. I-19 traffic noise sometimes intruded, but only when we were outside, and it was never onerous. As well, whoever had the adjoining unit played their music too loud--not all the time, and not incredibly loud, but clearly audible, even through the wall.
