Sounds, solitude, scenery in SE Arizona!

5 of 5
The Heartland Guesthouse was a birder's paradise! We saw 18 species of birds just while sitting on the patio. When we didn't SEE them, we HEARD them--a symphony of bird calls! The setting was gorgeous, and the serenity was wonderful. Rachel was very friendly & helpful with suggestions about where to explore/things to do, & she provided many maps, brochures, & bird guides for our use. Zena (one of 3 dogs on the property) became our "best friend"--always welcoming us, always ready for a treat! The guesthouse itself was very comfortable, immaculate, well-organized, and well-stocked with everything a person could need. We can't say enough good things about our stay here. Four nights were definitely NOT enough; we want to return! Patagonia Lake State Park was a true "find" & the place where we saw an elegant trogon. The "Overland Trout" served delicious, creative food. Be sure to include these places in your visit!
