Magical Place

5 of 5
Let me start by saying that my wife and I have stayed in Canyon Spirit 4 times since June 2012, and plan on coming back in the fall of 2015. We love it that much. I can't imagine a space better than this if you are looking to relax and de-stress. Everything is perfect down to the smallest detail. We like to take advantage of all the cabin has to offer. We generally would wake up early, start a fire in the fireplace (it's quite chilly in Oak Creek Canyon during the Fall mornings) and eat a big breakfast prepared in the full kitchen. After relaxing in front of the fire for a bit, we would head into Sedona and hike, shop, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Later in the afternoon we drive back north and spend the rest of the day in this wonderful cabin. It feels like another world. Even on days where the temperature is warm in Sedona, it's not uncommon for the temp at the cabin to be 10-15 degrees cooler. We like to get the fireplace going again and enjoy listening to the collection of CDs while just hanging out, reading, watching the birds, and eating an early dinner. Later on it feels wonderful to go into the outdoor hot tub and sooth sore muscles from the hike earlier that day. There are lots of games and movies to watch as well. It's my favorite vacation spot of all time. I highly recommend it.

Cozy cabin perfect for exploring Red Rock country, great for kids

5 of 5
We stayed in this lovely cabin the last week of 2012. It was perfect for our family with 3 kids - 7, 5, 2. The ample outside space allowed the kids to practice their soccer skills every day. The kitchen was well-stocked and the heater worked very well. We loved the breakfast table with the great view of Cathedral Rock. We saw a rather large coyote on our drive back to the cabin one evening. The owner Marcia recommended the Heartline Cafe where we had a delicious four course Christmas dinner. On the last day it snowed and was absolutely gorgeous. Nice selection of reading material and games. Sedona is a lovely town and a great base for exploring the area. We did several nearby hikes and went to the mining town of Jerome for a day. We also visited Walnut Canyon, Tuzigoot and Montezuma castle national monuments all of which have ancient Indian dwellings. The older kids were proud of the Junior Ranger park badges they earned. We never turned on the TV or used the iPad the whole week! We stayed in a few hotels following our stay in Sedona and we really missed the extra space and privacy the cabin provided.
