Absolutely Fabulous!

5 of 5
We are a family of 4 with 2 kids (11 and 9) and this home was perfect for our end of the summer vacation. Brenda was helpful and the booking process went smoothly. We arrived after an easy, highway drive from Phoenix Airport. The views on the roads leading to the house were exactly why you pick Sedona. Absolutely breathtaking. We easily let ourselves into the home with Brenda's instructions. The house was clean and well laid out for a family or even 3 couples. There are 2 balconies, although a neighbors tree blocks the best views of Cathedral Rock from the lower balcony. We joked we would pay them to cut it down if we owned the house. The backyard is nice and we saw quite a bit of wildlife - a boar, road runners, bunnies, coyote etc. It was a short walk to Crescent Moon where we took our towels and swam in the refreshing creek and dried on the warm red rocks right under Cathedral Rock. It was lovely - although it gets really crowded later in the day. The house itself is serene and very quiet all day and night long. It was easy to access downtown Sedona where we went on a jeep tour, rented ATV's, went horseback riding, went to the spa, and ate some delicious food. The market is close as well. We also went over to Verde River for tubing and Jerome to enjoy this quaint little town. All convenient as well. The beds and linens were comfortable, bathrooms clean and stocked with towels, good water pressure and heat, kitchen laid out nicely for cooking meals (which we did quite a bit of), the TV was easy to operate, and washer and dryer were useful after getting dusty in the red rocks. Probably my only suggestions for improvement are the kitchen needs a few more items (more drinking glasses, tongs, and spatulas in particular. We spent some time washing things to reuse them at each meal because we didn't want to run the dishwasher when it wasn't full. The other thing would be a better curtain/blind in the downstairs bedroom, the sun woke us up in the mornings. We really enjoyed the games and were thankful for the backpacks in the front closet for our day time adventures. I have already recommended this place to 3 friends. The kids loved it so much they kept saying "when we come back here"....Thank you for a wonderful stay and memories! We hope to stay again one day!

Better Than Expected!

5 of 5
Let's face it: it takes a certain amount of trust and courage to rent an expensive property based solely on the pictures in a website. They are certainly better than the way we used to do it "in the old days," but how many times have you rented online only to discover that the web site presented a better picture of the property than actually experienced? Well I'm pleased to say that was not the case with "scenic Sedona." This property was even better than I had hoped for! It is in a great location, close to the town but set away so you can enjoy unobstructed views of the red rocks in a quiet setting. The house is also the last unit in the cul-de-sac, so you have no neighbors on your south side and a nice view of nearby cliffs. It is also a short walk to a trailhead from where several nice hikes originate. The house itself was a perfect size for our group of 9, including two children, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The pool and spa were big hits with everyone; the kids loved the pool and the adults loved the hot tub with the view of red rocks in the background. Perhaps just as impressive as the house itself was the response from the owners with some problems we encountered when we first moved in. The dishwasher leaked and a plumber was there the next day. The TV is one master bedroom didn't work and we didn't particularly care because we didn't come to Sedona to watch TV, but lo and behold, two days later we had a new flat screen TV in that bedroom. I do a lot of reviews for VRBO and Trip Advisor because I use them myself and want to reciprocate for others. Thus I always try to include some negatives as well as positives, but try as I might, I cannot think of anything bad to say about this house. I will forever have fond memories of viewing the red rocks from the shower, from the pool and watching the sunset from the well furnished deck adjacent to the dining room. This week was in celebration of my 70th birthday, and if there's an 80th, I know where it will be.

Living the life in Sedona! Sedona Vista is THE place to stay.

5 of 5
Our family wanted to visit Sedona in the killer heat season to see if we, myself in particular, could survive the Arizona summer. My husband and I wish to retire there. And I am pleased to report it was a success. We are from the east coast, and even though it was the monsoon season and "very humid" in Sedona right now, the 44% humidity is a piece of cake compared to the soggy east coast. So enough about that. Sedona Vista was the perfect house for our week in Sedona. The views are spectacular (and that doesn't give it enough due). The green trees against the red rocks are so beautiful. And in the evening, looking up at the stars and seeing more stars than you've even seen is so wondrous and spiritual. Even looking out over West Sedona and seeing the twinkling lights is so lovely. One sign that you will see as you ride through the area is Scenic View up ahead or in 3/4 miles. This sign made me chuckle. Every view is scenic in Sedona. Now the house. It was perfect!!! The rooms are so spacious and well maintained. You have a gourmet kitchen to cook in if you so desire. And the picture shown online of the views from the kitchen sink and the dining room table are accurate. I am not a fan of doing dishes, but who wouldn't be OK with it if you had that type of view. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were great, all the furniture was very well maintained and the décor was so pleasing. The outside area with the pool was top notch. You really didn't have to go anywhere. Just a quick trip to the local Safeway or Natural Grocery store for food, and you were set for the week. We had three young adults with us who spent hours in and around the pool. They hardly watched TV. It's like being in paradise. If I had to provide any less than top rate information, I would say two things. First there are three flights of stairs. If you are running up and down, it can be quite the workout (well that could be a good thing right?!?!?!). The other thing is that the master bedroom on the upper floor is probably the warmest room in the whole house. My husband was fine and very comfortable, but as I mentioned I have issues with the heat (can you guess what age group I fall into (wink wink)).... so it was warm for me. If you are warm like me, take one of the rooms on the pool level. They were quite comfortable. This house is giving you a taste of living the "good" life. I recommend it without reservation to just about anyone!
