The condo was great for our 2-week stay. The grounds are attractive and well groomed, and the unit itself is well maintained; we appreciated the updated kitchen and laundry. There were enough supplies to get us started, and everything worked as expected. Coming from northeast Ohio in April, we especially enjoyed all the flowers and fragrances that greeted us. Even the patio was blooming!
We were in town for a family wedding, and the location was convenient to Talking Stick and to our relatives in North Scottsdale. We also visited the Desert Botanical Gardens, Fountain Hills, and the Musical Instrument Museum and were able to walk around Old Town almost every day. We ate at several area restaurants, including U.S. Egg, the Breakfast Club, Barrio Queen, Cowboy Ciao, Loco Patron, and RandR. Nothing really stood out, but then again, nothing was disappointing either. The Sugar Bowl, Petersen's, and Paradise Bakery are good for sweet treats. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, and we would definitely consider another visit next year for spring training.
Just a couple of suggestions for the owner-manager: We noticed that some neighboring units had keyed entries to the back patio, rather than the combination lock that can only be accessed from inside the unit. Also regarding the patio, the furniture was not in the best shape, particularly the high-top chairs. That wasn't really a problem for us, as we didn't need them, but if we had entertained guests it might have been. It would have been helpful to know that recycling is available, maybe just a note about the pink receptacles in the back. Finally, maybe provide a short list of nearby groceries or stores.
