Brian and Deborah have built a true oasis away from it all- a lovely home that accommodated all of our needs as a family with small children, plus a grandparent. As our first experience with a rental home, we are now convinced that there is no other way to do it! We were pleasantly surprised upon our very late night arrival that other travelers had left behind staples to get us through to the next day- juice, frozen waffles, coffee, crackers. We were sure to leave plenty of our own surplus behind, but it was a relief to not be "stuck". Of course you can't guarantee what'll be there, but it was so nice to have those amenities to help cover us until we got to the market the next day.
As a family with young children, we were happy to see that there wasn't anything to worry about as far as breakables. The Volkman's are even so thoughtful as to have a wonderful supply of toys that kept our kids very happy the entire stay! The home is tastefully decorated, but simple enough to not feel like you were impeding on someone else's space.
Brian was excellent to work with and was very accommodating in communicating with me prior and during our stay. The home was very clean and well maintained.
We spent a day in Madera Canyon, Saguro National Park and Pima Air and Space Museum. There was plenty more to do, but honestly the house was so inviting, comfortable and relaxing, we ended up spending more time in the home than going out! We made a couple trips to Tucson and did our grocery shopping in Green Valley- we never actually even made it into the town of Rio Rico. Mostly we spent our time relaxing in the 70-80 degree weather and enjoyed walks and bike rides in the morning, and dinner at sunset--- not pictured is a covered patio with a table set which is perfect for enjoying the beautiful view.
Thank you, Brian and Deborah, for making our vacation as great as we could have imagined. Five stars!
