We stayed at Daniel's cabin in August, 2014. We arrived early but had no problem setting up a meeting with the care taker to let us in. In fact, throughout our two day stay the caretaker was helpful and accommodating. The setting was private and quiet. I40 is far enough away that there was no road noise. There were decent views but nothing special. Since we had two dogs, we appreciated having the enclosed away around the cabin. It rained both days that we stayed so we did not do much exploring. It was a little muddy but nothing major. The inside of the cabin was well-appointed, very clean and had a very well stocked pantry and refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. There is a small problem with the limited water situation both in the cabin and in the area. There is no well. Water, however, was never a major problem and we believe in water conservation as well. Daniel, the owner, was friendly and accommodating. He does not live on the property so we only talked with him on the phone or via emails. Grocery stores are 7-8 miles in either direction. We did not have to make the trip. All in all, it was a good experience and we would consider the cabin again should be in the area or travelling through.
