Wow! What an amazing cabin!
I was fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday weekend in this beautiful secluded home away from home. It was the perfect meeting place for my family from CA and NM to meet up with us and make many new memories!
I had several conversations with Esther, the owner, before we arrived regarding our upcoming stay. She was pleasant, very informative and answered all of my questions. She called to let me know a new furnace was being installed the day we were set to arrive and apologized for any debris the previous vacationers may have left behind. The furnace worked great! If for some reason it hadn't, there are wall heaters in every room.
When I opened the door and walked into the cabin, the most beautiful Christmas tree just lit up! Awesome touch! It instantly felt cozy! I love that the decor wasn't your classic rustic southwesterny Navajo print, like most of the cabins I sifted through on this website. The bedding in the master was super comfy as was the huge sectional couch in the living room. Which was the perfect place for playing games and hanging out by the big fireplace! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything including utensils, spices, coffee (coffee pot, Keurig, grinder) and most importantly- wine glasses : ) I must comment on the nice quality towels in the bathrooms and the great smelling organic handwash! Oh and there was also shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers!
One of the main reasons I chose this cabin was because of the wrap around deck and the view of the trees from there. The pictures shown don't really do it justice. I wish I could have my coffee out on that deck every morning! There is also a really neat outdoor fire pit surrounded by some chairs. It was great for marshmallow roasting and we also took a great family photo there! The area next to and behind the cabin were big enough for us all to run around, play catch and explore!
We live in Scottsdale where I find it hard to get into the holiday spirit when surrounded by sunshine and palm trees but after staying at the Blue Jay Vista, I can honestly say we are all in the Christmas spirit! I know " luxurious cabin" is usually an oxymoron but not in this case! I hope to make it back sooner than later!
