OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY FAMILY VACATION

5 of 5
Our family plans a family vacation once a year where we book a VRBO to get away from it all and catch up with each other. As our children are now adults, it's difficult to get everyone in one place, so we have to set our plans up at least 6 months out. Another challenge is the fact that our family loves those four legged companions and between the 6 of us, we have five of them...so finding a VRBO that's willing to take pets adds to the challenge. We were very lucky to have found this wonderful log home that would do so, and also fullfill our desire to be in the woods, while allowing us to attend the 4th of July festivies in Show Low. Additionally, we have a family of trailrunners, so the ability to step across a small fence into National Forest each morning for a run was pure heaven for us and our four legged buddies! We threw horseshoes and played disc golf during the day, and at night sat on the porch to watch the first monoons roll into the White Mountains. These same monsoons lulled us to sleep each night with a thunderstorm performance. Prior to our vacations, we plan our menus as a family and it can be challenging to find everything needed to cook with in a rental. Not so in this one.... the kitchen was very well stocked and we had everything we needed. I can honestly say this was one of our best family vacations. It was harder than usual to say goodbye after this one.....we hope to make it back.

OUR GO TO PLACE IN PINETOP

5 of 5
This is the second time we have stayed in the Ponderosa Lodge when we visited Pinetop. Primarily because we have family that lives across the street but also because it's the perfect place to walk into and set up for a relaxing stay. Other than food and toiletries everything you would need to feel at home is there. It's in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by other nice homes, paved streets, and all the necessities like washer/dryer, dishwasher, garage, and a beautiful deck under the pine trees across the front. It is clean and well maintained and the rental process is hassle free and convenient. It's nice to have this as an option when my sister's house is too crowded! We have stayed both times in the summer months, but this would also be a great property for winter visitors to SunRise. I would highly recommend the property.

CONVEINENT LOCATION

4 of 5
It was really a 4 1/2 star stay. Nice property, owner easy to deal with, conveient location, clean, and overall a very nice property. THe proeprty met our needs of 2 adults and 3 kids and we had enough room to entertain. The large deck and great room gave us plenty of room to relax. The bedrooms were comfortable. The gas fireplace served as the heater for the cabin complete with a thermostat and circulating fan, and small wall units helped take the chill off in the mornings for the bedrooms. No need for the heater at night, even in 20 degree weather as the bedding was plenty warm. The flooring was beautiful wood, but very slick. Kids in socks had to walk carefully, especially on the steep stairway. TV, games and puzzles made for a nice stay, but conveinent location to area attractions was also helpful. Kitchen gear was adequate, but minimal extra supplies, so bring all you need for cooking. Well stocked bathroom and cleaning supplies. Had WiFi connection, but we couldn't get the Internet to work and no directions were supplied. We probably shouldn't be so connected anyway! Would definitely stay here again.
