We enjoyed our stay in this modular home located right by Old route 66. The owners were pleasant and quick with regard to any email correspondence. The home was clean and the pictures paint a "spot on" depiction of what the property looks like with the exception of a single wide mobile home, which is located directly north of this modular that appears to be in pretty rough shape. There is a K-8 school directly across the street, which had an outdoor play area that was open so we took ample advantage with our child. There is also a historic 76 gas station about 50 yards away on the corner for basic shopping needs in addition to a deli and sandwiches/pizza for breakfast, lunch, dinner if you do not feel like cooking.
There was an outdoor bench outside, but it would have been nice to have a table on the deck area as well since this was where we chose to spend most of our time and had to use the coolers we brought as tables. There is a 21 inch television with DVD capability, but otherwise no TV,cable, or WiFi, which was just fine for us, but it would have been nice to have access to a radio/CD player or some board games in the evening, which we thought was lacking.
From our standpoint, we were under the impression this property was more in a rural wilderness area, but it is situated directly behind the historic gas station and across the street from a fairly large school, which sort of put a dampener on things since it appeared this was a main street in this area, which was completely our fault for not looking at the map in detail prior to booking. With that being said, overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend for adults, but not children who like to be entertained.
