Amazing rental near Grand Canyon

5 of 5
Mountain Star has so much to offer for those seeking to experience not only the Grand Canyon, but the diversity of Arizona itself. While only a short driving distance from Flagstaff and Sedona, Mountain Star is located beyond the commotion of city life. Surrounded by outstanding mountain views, and the opportunity to see a magnificent night sky, Mountain Star truly was the heart of our trip. We enjoyed: cooking meals in the kitchen while taking in that incredible view of Humphrey's Peak, roasting marshmallows outside under the stars by a warm fire, playing card games on a rainy day, and watching movies. When we ventured out, our destinations were all within driving distance, and always provided for great scenic drives. The owner, Rob, provides extensive recommendations for activities to fill your days. He has placed much effort and love into this rental, so that we did in fact feel at home during our stay. I highly recommend this rental and I am grateful to have experienced it myself!

Super convenient locale, cozy home away from home

5 of 5
If you are traveling to AZ to visit the Grand Canyon, Sedona, or historic Route 66, this is an ideal location. A day's drive to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. A short walk to downtown Williams, with quaint shops and great restaurants (Thai, pizza, and Mexican) on Rt. 66. Everything you need is in this cozy, quaint home. If there is anything amiss, Veronica will make it right. We enjoyed a helicopter tour of Sedona, a jeep tour of the Grand Canyon, and strolling down Rt. 66. Great memories!

Absolutely wonderful!

5 of 5
My first impression of the property upon arriving was different than the morning after. We had driven 15 hours the first day, and 9 hours the day of arrival. I was tired, and my expectations were easily-satisfied as long as there was somewhere to stretch my legs and rest. I admit to being fairly drowsy the first night, and the sheer beauty of the entire place, the cabin included, didn't sink in until the first morning, where I was woken up by a view of the sunrise and a group of hummingbirds drinking from their feeders outside the window. The craftsmanship of the cabin was very impressive! Being from the city, it was the first time that I found staring at the wall before falling asleep to be very relaxing. The furnishing and personality to the cabin was wonderful, and even though I didn't expect we would use or need it very much, the food pantry was very helpful and we found ourselves buying fewer things to eat than during our typical vacations. The cabin was very neat, and we did our absolute best to keep it that way and respect the lovely art and decor! After purchasing proper footwear for it, we spent hours exploring the 30 acres of the property every single day that we were there, whether it was early in the morning to see the sunrise, or late at night to hear the coyotes howl. The sights were lovely, and we didn't have to leave the property to see that. Everything was almost exactly as described - just better. I would not only recommend this to someone, but I would love to return there myself someday soon.
