                              Amazing place!!

This was an amazing place to stay before a trip to Grand Canyon. The property is immaculate and well-stocked. The owners showed amazing hospitality. The highlights for us were feeding the horses and seeing a zillion stars in the night sky. We will be back!!

Magical weekend at The Mountain Star

I'll start off by saying Rob, the renter, was absolutely the best "check in" experience I ever had at a vacation rental. From the moment you book the house, Rob provides you with a detailed email of helpful things to know (about the area, driving directions, different hikes, what to wear and bring, etc.) Goes to show how much thought and care he puts into ones stay! The house itself is filled with charm and feels like home the moment you step in. Days were spent at the Grand Canyon (1 hour away) and Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend (2.5 hours away) but nights were when the house came to life. We cooked healthy and delicious meals every night using all of the gorgeous kitchen counter. (I am from NYC so we made sure to use the large kitchen we never would have access to back home!) We made a small camp fire on the deck and made smores outside while looking out at the endless black shimmering night. The master room bathtub provided a quiet sanctuary while washing the day's worth of sun, sweat and dirt away overlooking the peaks. Many wine glasses were had, of course. You are guaranteed a wonderful experience in the nature and I would not experience Grand Canyon any other way than staying at The Mountain Star.

                              Absolutely wonderful!

My first impression of the property upon arriving was different than the morning after. We had driven 15 hours the first day, and 9 hours the day of arrival. I was tired, and my expectations were easily-satisfied as long as there was somewhere to stretch my legs and rest. I admit to being fairly drowsy the first night, and the sheer beauty of the entire place, the cabin included, didn't sink in until the first morning, where I was woken up by a view of the sunrise and a group of hummingbirds drinking from their feeders outside the window. The craftsmanship of the cabin was very impressive! Being from the city, it was the first time that I found staring at the wall before falling asleep to be very relaxing. The furnishing and personality to the cabin was wonderful, and even though I didn't expect we would use or need it very much, the food pantry was very helpful and we found ourselves buying fewer things to eat than during our typical vacations. The cabin was very neat, and we did our absolute best to keep it that way and respect the lovely art and decor! After purchasing proper footwear for it, we spent hours exploring the 30 acres of the property every single day that we were there, whether it was early in the morning to see the sunrise, or late at night to hear the coyotes howl. The sights were lovely, and we didn't have to leave the property to see that. Everything was almost exactly as described - just better. I would not only recommend this to someone, but I would love to return there myself someday soon.
