This Flagstaff rental exceeded our expectations. We fell in love with the house and the area. This was our first time in Flagstaff. The owners set a new high bar for vacation rentals (and we have stayed at many in the US & Europe). The home offered comfort, classy/unique beauty and wonderful views. Everything we needed to make ourselves at home was available. Since we cooked all our meals there, we especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen, the welcome basket, and the open pantry with good olive oil, vinegar and herbs. I don’t think we’ve ever stayed anywhere where EVERYTHING--every window, drain and appliance--worked! The owners are our kind of house-tending people!
The man who greeted us is a gem--diligent, kind, generous and up-beat. Our initial afternoon arrival was jinxed when our morning flight from Iowa was cancelled. Lucky to get to Flagstaff on our intended check-in day, we arrived closer to 10 at night. He was at the house to greet us, explain the house and offer his take on must-do excursions. The next morning, he readily followed up with a few house details.
Setting up this rental with La Jolla Rentals was flawless, the ease much appreciated.
There was a book about Flagstaff hikes on the living room shelf by Richard and Sherry Mangum. It lead us to Red Mountain. This hike was starred in red marker, I assume by the owners. Red Mountain was a high point of our hiking adventures--a magical, must-see place. It was right up our ally: most of our excursions were volcano-centered.
For 3 of the nights, friends joined us. This house is optimally set up for 2 couples--the master suite at one end of the house, one of the other bedrooms with its own bath at the other end with the living room at the axis point.
We so appreciated being able to stay in this special home for a week.
