Great graduation getaway!

4 of 5
We decided to try home away instead of the traditional hotel! Being a military's fmaily we've usually stayed at fort Tuthill just a couple miles up the highway from this residence. We were very pleased with the home, the ammentities and the surroundings. We ended up having three people less traveling within us so we didn't use all the rooms but had we, it would've been very comfortable. The only down side was the shower curtain in the bathroom downstairs would not stay up at all so we weren't able to use it and with three girls it made it more challenging. The garage remote didn't work so we needed to keep going around to open and close. Would we stay here again...absolutely. We were also able to check in a little early which was very helpful.

A Most Excellent Choice for Foodies and Hikers

5 of 5
We stay at VRBOs a lot, and must say this is one of our favorites! Unlike most VRBOs, the owners don't "nickel and dime" for extras, or require that you make a trip to the store to get basic necessities (in fact, they stock all of those, plus unexpected non-necessities, such as paper napkins, BBQ skewers, toothpicks, electric wine opener, a "greeting" bottle of Chardonnay, water bowl for Fido, three different cheese graders, coffee grinder, blender, many pots & pans--a truly well-stocked kitchen for the "foodies" who like to cook at home). Comfy, clean rooms, beautiful deck overlooking golf course, well-supplied bathrooms. The owners were very accommodating when we wanted to fill-in several open days in an otherwise booked month. It required quick turnaround between guests, but it went without a hitch. We like to stay in downtown Flag or a very short distance away, for a restaurant experience or window-shopping, but not too far from trailheads for our two daily hikes. The location of this place, for both, is most excellent. What we thought initially as being a "con" when we booked was the required insurance; but it does take the guesswork out of whether renters will have issues getting all of a security deposit back, since the insurance premium is paid in lieu of a security deposit (we've never been burned by a VRBO owner re. security deposit, but it's nice not to have to think about potential hassles while vacationing). If we ever were to place a rental property on short-term vacation rentals such as with VRBO, we'd likely go with the "no muss, no fuss" insurance route as well. We took a spectacular photo from the back deck over the golf course and pond, complete with sunset. Will send to the owners, and hopefully they will upload it here.
