                      Recent San Telmo Reviews

                      Excellent Location and More

                      5 of 5
Our group of six adults spent two weeks living in this lovely apartment. It occupies the top floor and is quiet and spacious. High ceilings and equally high windows fill the living space with light. We cooked dinners in the kitchen and dined at the dining room table. The fireplace provided warmth and plenty of seating when we returned from adventures in the cool of the Buenos Aires winter. Each couple also had their own bedroom and bathroom so privacy was easily guaranteed. The apartment had everything we needed, including blow dryers and an iron. The location is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed living in San Telmo. The neighborhood has restaurants both for coffee or lunch and for excellent dinners. The best meals we had in the city were in restaurants within easy walking distance from the apartment. It is also very close to Porto Madero where some of us walked and some ran every morning without the worry caused by traffic. San Telmo contains antique shops, museums, a wonderful market, grocery stores, and all that we needed for our everyday needs. Finally, we rented the apartment largely because the reviews noted the assistance of Ruben. None of us speak Spanish and were a bit nervous about that. Ruben was actually out of the country during our stay. His substitute, Andy, was fabulous. He not only answered every question, helped us arrange travel outside of the city, accompanied us on those travels when we requested, but he also listened carefully to our individual interests and help us explore those. The owner was also tremendously helpful as we planned for the trip and was clearly invested in our having a successful trip.

                      Fantastic experience - beautiful mansion!

                      5 of 5
I travel often and have stayed in a range of accommodation - but this has been one of my favourite buildings that I've stayed in - the mansion is absolutely beautiful. I booked this after reading such great reviews, I was very happy that I did this and would recommend to friends and family. The mansion and rooms were beautiful, very grand and all thoroughly cleaned. The location is great, very close to a great park, great bars and restaurants. Joss who manages the accommodation was very helpful with all of my random requests from suggestions for local attractions and restaurants to offering fantastic customer service. Overall - a brilliant experience which I 100% recommend.

This is a absolutely wonderful property

                      5 of 5
I have a villa in RIo de Janeiro and had a group of friends visiting. Decided to add on 4 nights in BA since so many had travelled so far. Being a villa owner - you can imagine I am one very fussy guest. I also know how to evaluate after 4 years at Hotel School. This property is wonderful, warm, well-situated, well appointed, and very value priced. Ruben who greeted us and helped us with tourism there gets my A++ rating and no one could possibly do it better. Do not get me wrong - the place is not perfect. The plants sure could use about 4 hours of a good gardeners attention & the kitchen although filled with everything a cook could desire to prep a big meal - needs an hour of cabinet and drawer organizing. But overall - it was just so right for me and my guests. The layout is peculiar but so roomy. All 4 bedrooms on the ground floor were huge and well appointed. Ditto on laundry, 2 bathrooms, BBQ glass roofed atrium, and huge kitchen and dining area. THe second floor had a spectacular master suite which is lofted over - and a separate small kitchenette and livinig room with 2 very comfortable sofas (we used these to sleep 2 of us). Great garden off this area with nice iron furniture. There is no problem sleeping 12 in this home - and everyone has lots of privacy. Rubin who met us and manages the place is a real winner. Kind, great communications skills, detailed, on time, full of great stories and very knowledgable about Argentina and South America. It was marvelous to listen to him. He organized many tours, drivers, reservations for us - and each was a quality experience. He represents the US owner very well. It is so nice to hear someone who so likes their job and their boss. All with good reason I would assume. The neighborhood for me was perfect. Large groups need a venue where 2 or 3 can break off and in minutes go their own way so shop, or dine, or just walk around. This was the perfect venue in that respect. I love San Telmo - and the great Mercado de San Telmo on the same street as the house. Incredible cheese, sausage, fruits, meat, vegetables and tons of antiques. Roaring with 1930's atmosphere. The Desnivel restaurant (so cheap and so great) is on the next block. marvelous Lomo - a cut of beef. Petanque - a favorite resaurant is so fun, and so Parisian. A 4 block walk La Brigada which was recommended by a tour operator we met on the plane is on same street A++ Great meats and salad would rent again
