Shell Villa as a wedding venue

5 of 5
During August 2014 my then Fiancée and I stayed at Shell Villa for two weeks during which time we were married at the villa itself. From the time of our arrival at the airport, being greeted by our driver and guide, to the very last day when our wonderful housekeeper helped us with our luggage, nothing was too much trouble for any member of the Shell Villa 'team'. The property was immaculately presented, with a few surprise extras in the kitchen department. Our introduction was friendly, informative and very supportive. That is how it went for the next two weeks. A friendly, supportive team who were always available at the end of the phone but who never got in the way. The location is as special as the villa itself. The villa, the sea, the grounds and surrounds made a perfect backdrop to the wedding. Over the whole two weeks we enjoyed and relaxed so much that a return visit is a must. The villa gets a top star rating in our books. Two very happy people.

Excellent Location, Stocked with Amenities and Details

5 of 5
We stayed at Janie's villa for Spring Break 2013- 4 adults and 3 children. Plenty of room and a bed for all (Janie provided a rollaway bed for our 3 year old). The villa had everything we needed - washer/dryer (with plenty of detergent), WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, Gas BBQ grill. All the beds had mosquito nets (a necessity in Antigua). Janie even provided us with a fifth of local Anitguan rum upon our arrival. The villa is part of a bigger complex, community, Jolly Harbour, which is nearly fully self contained, including a full supermarket, liquor store, pharmacy, restaurant/bar (the Crow's Nest - which also had a huge swimming pool). We visisted several beaches on the island but in our opinion the best one was the beach within Jolly Harbour (there are actually 2 beaches - North and South beach, but I can't remember which one it was - the one just past the Crows Nest). Also we were able to embark on two activities/excursions without even leaving Jolly Harbor megaplex- the Wadidli Cats circumnavigation cruise and a half-day deep sea fishing trip (caught a King Mackerel and prepared it in the villa). The villa is also far enough away from St. Johns so that it provided a good degree of privacy, and is also pretty close to the great southern beaches on the island and the Antiguan Rainforest Canopy Tour (ziplining) which we also did. This was a great value for our family and was a very comfotable and enjoyable and a great value for a family of seven. We will definitely seek to stay at Janie's villa if we make it back to Antigua.

Great location

5 of 5
Having spent 10 weeks in Antigua at another villa, we spent our last 5 days in Blue Moon, and it was a wonderful way to end our visit. We rented the highest point villa, with a magnificent view of Galleon Beach and the ocean, with its boats and yachts. We especially enjoyed the sunsets, sipping cocktails on the terrace. We experienced the Jacuzzi our first night, and it was very enjoyable. The villa was especially quiet, except for some construction during the days, some noise from the beach where the sounds resonate in the enclosed bay, and Shirley Heights on Sunday afternoon. The layout of the Villa is very well thought out, with the only exception being for the small refrigerator in the kitchen, requiring use of the larger fridge located near the Jacuzzi and bbq. The master bed, sheeting and netting is very comfortable, especially when compared to some of our recent experiences in the Caribbean. Since we are accustomed to AC, we missed it mostly in mid to late afternoon, and sleeping at night, very hot and humid at times. The owners can be complimented for their kindness and attention provided during our stay. We have no hesitation in recommending these villas for a wonderful holiday experience.
