Wonderful Stay - Gorgeous views!

5 of 5
Our family of 5 (kids' ages: 18, 16 12) just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week at Nirvana. What a treat. The hill-top location is spectacular overlooking Sandy Ground's beach and boat-filled harbor to the mountains of St. Martin in the distance. Other views are of the endless Caribbean Sea...breathtaking from every window and terrace. Loved the location as it makes getting to beaches/restaurants on both ends of the island easy. Paul was incredibly helpful throughout the rental process. He sent us a packet of info prior to our departure full of recommendations and a map with notes and Immigration forms for Anguilla which made the process at Blowing Point Ferry Terminal (our arrival point) that much speedier. He arranged for our shuttle from St. Martin's airport and a ride for us upon arrival on Anguilla. Our rental car was parked at the villa upon arrival. He made everything so easy. Organized, gracious and wanting you to have the best stay ever at Nirvana. The Connors and their team graciously welcomed us at Nirvana and had a delicious meal of Ken's BBQ waiting for us with a large fruit platter. A surprise and enjoyed by all after a long morning of travel. The fridge was stocked with basics, including cold beverages and 2 bottles of wine...unexpected and appreciated. The villa - just lovely. State of the art kitchen, 2 large bedrooms on main floor, master suite on the entire 3rd floor (with outdoor shower on one of the terraces off the bathroom, 1 bedroom with queen bed on lower level. All bedrooms have flatscreen tv's & great bathrooms attached. Dvd collection and books in main floor bedroom closet. Loved the gym on the lower level to start the day - such a bonus ! Laundry room on the lower level also was great to have in-house. Pool was fabulous to come home to after a full day of exploring...all around fabulous stay!!

Spectacular – in every way!

5 of 5
This was our first trip to Anguilla – but not our last! We savored every moment of our time spent in Anguilla, but especially when we were staying at the Moonraker. Pick your favorite luxury hotel – and this is better. Pick your favorite superlatives, they can be used interchangeably to describe the Moonraker experience. And believe the reviews and info on the website. They are all true. The Moonraker is set on a bluff, surrounded by absolutely stunning views of the ocean. The location is perfect – it is high enough up to allow a gentle breeze (which means no bugs) and at night, the most fabulous star gazing you can imagine. It was just my husband and me on this trip and we were comfortable the minute we walked in the door and that feeling remained throughout our stay there. The house itself is spacious, comfortably appointed and extremely well maintained. The kitchen is THE best stocked kitchen of any house/villa rental we have experienced, with no detail overlooked, including plenty of dishtowels, cloth napkins and placemats. For the majority of our stay, we cooked dinner “at home” and had our lunches on the beaches. As good as the kitchen was, I must say, the pool is THE BEST! I couldn’t seem to stay out of it. It is deep and huge and oh, so inviting. I don’t believe I paid much attention to the pool when selecting the Moonraker, other than there was a nice one. Here I am, two months later, and still thinking about that darned, enticing pool. When we were there, we were either lounging somewhere on the pool deck or in the pool. Not connected to the Moonraker per se, but relevant to perfecting your stay, we did find some unbelievable places to eat – with both of our regular haunts very nearby the house. Please don’t leave without at least one trip to Nat’s Place at Junk’s Hole, AKA Palm Grove Bar & Grill for lunch. We were at Moonraker for 12 days, and ate at Nat’s for lunch three times! We became addicted to his specially prepared red snapper & grilled lobsters. And Au Ban Pain Bakery. Go early, and daily. Finally, no review of the Moonraker would be complete without a shout out to both Paul, the owner, and Georgia, our housekeeper. They were both very friendly, professional and gracious. Georgia helped to really bring Anguilla and its genuine hospitality right to our doorstep. Thank you Paul, Georgia, Nat and everyone who made our stay so spectacular – in every way! We will see you next year.

It's all about the spice rack

5 of 5
We've been fortunate to stay in many wonderful villas throughout the Caribbean, where we've been travelling for over 30 years. This was our first stay on Anguilla. It will not be our last. The island is charming, accessible, relatively bug free, and has the most amazing beaches we've ever seen. Best part? The people are just plain wonderful. They seem to be thrilled that their little slice of heaven is enjoyed by so many folks from away, and they are all great hosts and hostesses. Our thoughts on GOC. 1. Read the other reviews. Suspend your skeptical grumpy self, and just believe every single word. The house is as good as described, and in many ways much better. It seems to have been built as someone's home, and not just a rental place. Lots of nice detail work, interesting lighting, very upscale furnishings and great finish levels throughout. Our experience in other villas, almost uniformly, is that they are presented as nice places to stay, but rarely do we feel welcomed as we would be in our best friend's home. Paul and Elise seem to be natural hosts, and this house reflects that. EVERYTHING works and EVERYTING you need to enjoy your time away is in place. The spice rack has 25 spices, not the begrudging salt and pepper shaker we usually find. The liquor cabinet has plenty of devil rum to tide you over until a trip to the store, and the refrigerator has milk, bread, butter and eggs for your first breakfast. AND there are actually coffee filters that work with the pot!! These things don't happen by accident, and I'm trying to make the point that they are reflective of the overall experience, well thought through, generous and accommodating. 2. The pool deck is where you'll spend most of your non beach time, and it's outstanding. Again, we've learned to be picky about sun exposure, and this pool deck has sun from, literally, an hour after sunrise until sunset. 3. The view. It's the real deal. Limitless horizon to suck the stress right out of your brain for hour after hour, with lots of cool boats moored in the harbor to snoop on when you're so moved. The sunsets are right out of central casting, and demand to be toasted with an umbrella drink of some kind. We really loved the house and location (walking distance to a couple of nice places to eat, but the walk uphill coming home is a killer), and we'll definitely return.
