Beautiful home, spectacular views!

5 of 5
This is a beautiful home with unbeatable views. We enjoyed having our coffee and breakfast out on one of the decks each morning, watching the sunrise over the mountains. It was tough trying to decide which mountains we wanted to look at each morning! It is perfectly situated within walking distance of the town center (via a fun shortcut path through the back yard), but also near the edge of town and a short 5 minute hike past a waterfall to Quarry Lake. It is just a short drive to the Nordic Center, Grassi Lakes and several other picturesque lakes and trails. There is abundant wildlife nearby - we saw mule deer and elk during our stay. The home is incredibly well stocked, with almost everything you might need, from condiments and spices in the kitchen to eyeglass cleaner, makeup remover and hand lotion in all of the bathrooms. I have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, but until now I have never stayed anywhere that had enough toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags to see a party of 11 through a 9 day stay. The kitchen actually has 2 refrigerators, which was quite handy. The owners have really paid attention to all the details. It is also, hands down, the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The owners did meet us at the house at the beginning of our stay and again at the end of the stay - which we thought was a little unorthodox from our previous experience. However, they simply want to make sure their visitors know how everything works and that their home will be well cared for. At the end of our stay, they did a quick walk through and returned our security deposit (in cash) on the spot. They are extremely friendly and accommodating. They recommended a few hikes and even provided the name and number of a massage therapist, who I wish I could say we had called. This is a beautiful home, in a great location, with incredible views and owners who have gone the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable. I can recommend it without reservation.

The Silvertip Lodge. Fantastic Home !

5 of 5
This is a fabulous home. It's location, views, and furnishings are beyond what we needed or expected. Alex & his wife have thought of everything you would want in the house. It is spacious, warm and comfortable. There is a high end kitchen that is large enough for multiple cooks. Pots & pans and dishes for well over 15 people. More that enough bedrooms, with their own baths to satisfy 4-5 couples. We never found time to use the lower level game room which has a pool table, foosball, and other games. And many bonuses. Sitting / TV room on upper level is a warm and cozy room to watch TV, read a book, or have a group discussion. We used the outdoor table & chairs a couple of afternoons & night. The pantry is huge, with a large freezer in the pantry for use. Also, the house and garage has numerous bicycles, backpacks, winter ski equipment, and garments. The house is in a very quiet area overlooking the village of Canmore and a short drive to Banff and to numerous hiking trails. Several restaurants, pubs, and shops are located a short drive in Canmore & Banff. Caroline, the local property manager was outstanding. She met us a scheduled and showed us through the house and offered suggestions on restaurants & activities. Caroline was always available for a call. I would strongly recommend The Silvertip Lodge to any group who needs space and a quality facility.

Great Summer Get Away

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Canmore and your beautiful home! We have rented houses via VRBO/Home Away for the last 15 years or so throughout North America, Costa Rica and Europe. Your home was EXACTLY as advertised and maybe even better! We sure appreciated the staples (I think we passed on even more for the next guests!), the Park Pass (what a small, but great gesture to give to your guests!), hiking books, and the cleanliness and quality of the home and its furnishings. We greatly appreciate your hiking, activity and restaurant suggestions via email. They were spot on. Wish we had another week to enjoy even more of them. What a great area of the world that you get to enjoy every day! Looking forward to the next time (maybe winter??) and hopefully being able to rent your home again. My wife, three 20-something daughters, a fiancee, and a long-time boyfriend all thank you for a great 8 days!!
