CHARMING COTTAGE WITH MANY THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES

5 of 5
The cottage's owner, Michele, is responsive and accommodating from booking to check out. My brother and I (we're in our late 30s and early 40s) only were able to spend four days in Anchorage and wanted the space and convenience of a rental property over a hotel room. This cottage served as a very comfortable, convenient "home-away" from home with so many helpful supplies and charming touches, like fresh flowers, travel guides, and food in the fridge! The cottage is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, positioned about 10 miles away from the airport (a cheap taxi ride away or short car ride away) and less than two miles away from Anchorage's downtown. This one-bedroom cottage is simple, but smartly remodeled and well-maintained. It avoids that dinginess that some rental properties quickly acquire. Its floor plan is efficient with plenty of window space and a sense of openness to the living room (with sofa-futon) and kitchen. The cottage's kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with basic foods, dining supplies, and appliances, and the small, tidy bathroom has an abundance of towels. A charming property that pleases even finicky travelers!

NOT TOO FAR FROM AIRPORT BUT WITH SECLUDED FEEL!

4 of 5
A friend and I stayed in Mark's cabin for the weekend. We were visiting Faibanks in March hoping to see the Aurora. The cabin was very comfortable in terms of space, temperatue, and basic accomodations. Its perfect if you're looking for a more authentic/secluded cabin feel that isn't too far from the airport. Mark was also very helpful and friendly. Before we arrived he provided directions and other suggestions on getting from the airport to the cabin (i.e. - take the route past Safeway and stock up on some groceries). He even met us at the cabin when we arrived, despite the fact that we didn't get in until after midnight! All in all, the cabin met our needs perfectly. Plus, we had great aurora viewing while in Fairbanks so the trip was a great success!!!

AMAZING CABIN AND LOCATION

5 of 5
You think, cabin, Okay I need to get some of the essentials. Not at Cabins on the Bluff. Wonderful amenities in the kitchen, bath....pizza stone, baking and frying equipment, fire pit for roasting marshmallows and gas grill. We left items behind for the next adventurers. So, go first to the cabin and see what is there, then go to the grocery store. Eventually there are plans for a washer and dryer in two of the cabins for long stay guests. The view is beyond amazing. Cook Inlet--two volcanoes. Chuck and Julie were wonderful hosts. The cabins are in a great spot to explore All of the Kenai pennisula. Will we recommend to others, YES. We did not want to leave and we have already given out cards to those we met at meals outside the cabin and on tours. One of the most amazing things---getting up at 4:45 am and looking outside and seeing an amazing rainbow across Mount Illiamna. We are planning an extended stay in the next few years. Hooray for Home Away and the commercials Superbowl Day.
