Terrific Honeymoon

5 of 5
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in this cabin. The property and the cabin exceeded our expectations, the pictures on the website are good but we were truly impressed when we got there, from the minute we walked in the door we felt at home. We arrived at the cabin on Sunday and spent Monday just laying around and enjoying the place. During the week we visited Denali National Park, and although the weather didn't really cooperate for us to get a good view of Mt. McKinley, it was still a good day. I have come to the conclusion that whether in clear skies and sunshine or cloudy and raining that Alaska is beautiful. We took a day to drive down to Seward and we highly recommend eating at Chinooks, our food was excellent and the service was great. Exit Glacier, Matanuska Glacier, and the Alaska Zoo in Anchorage are also worth seeing. We want to thank Kay and Kelly for the use of the cabin, it was worth every penny and made our first week of marriage truly memorable.

Felt like Home

5 of 5
My wife, daughter and I stayed here for about two weeks in July, as my son lives down the street...What a tremendous spot...All descriptions were "spot-on"...Great back-yard, w/ nice grill and nice table n chairs, quiet w/ awesome view...Perfect for cooking at home, or dining out in town...the Beds were very comfortable...Bathroom new, and "just big enough"...Whole place was very clean...All appliances, especially washer/dryer were great convenience, and work well... Parking and access, very easy and welcoming...Nice neighbors too...I've done the hotels downtown and this is a much better "set-up" than either one..., at comparable/ or better pricing...Close proximity to grocery store, and entertainment ("sea-plane sightseeing", fishing, beach walking), could walk to downtown, but better by car...Kodiak also has a cab service available...I highly recommend this quaint little cottage to anyone.... On our next trip to Kodiak we definitely plan to stay here.....

Charming cottage with many thoughtful touches

5 of 5
The cottage's owner, Michele, is responsive and accommodating from booking to check out. My brother and I (we're in our late 30s and early 40s) only were able to spend four days in Anchorage and wanted the space and convenience of a rental property over a hotel room. This cottage served as a very comfortable, convenient "home-away" from home with so many helpful supplies and charming touches, like fresh flowers, travel guides, and food in the fridge! The cottage is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, positioned about 10 miles away from the airport (a cheap taxi ride away or short car ride away) and less than two miles away from Anchorage's downtown. This one-bedroom cottage is simple, but smartly remodeled and well-maintained. It avoids that dinginess that some rental properties quickly acquire. Its floor plan is efficient with plenty of window space and a sense of openness to the living room (with sofa-futon) and kitchen. The cottage's kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with basic foods, dining supplies, and appliances, and the small, tidy bathroom has an abundance of towels. A charming property that pleases even finicky travelers!
