We had a great time at this home. First it's a great location, walking distance from resort, restaurants, bakery, and the bottom of the ski hill we all hiked up on a lovely summer day - to the top of Mt Alyeska! A great trek for 3 couples, my husband and myself, our two grown kids and their sweeties. Had planned to bring my 90-year old mom here (the home, not the hike) and had selected this home because she could have stayed in the Master bedroom on ground floor. Alas, she couldn't come after all, but we 6 had a marvelous time. We also rented 2 bikes (a great bike shop less than a mile (?) back out the highway! So each couple could spin round the town and on the bike trails. We cooked in most meals, and there was only one thing lacking in the kitchen: a large enough teapot to brew some Earl Gray (or whatever) for our gang. We don't do individual teabags - prefer sharing one pot.) But I'd be very surprised if owner Sue hasn't already seen to this, as she and her husband were most agreeable hosts. Always available, but never nosy. The kitchen has an abundance of cooking utensils, dishes, and nice appliances. We lacked for nothing. Appreciated the house-made non-toxic laundry detergent.
On another note, whoever gets the master bedroom on main floor should prefer soft beds.
I loved how the kitchen table gets morning light, and since I like to get up early to read or journal, I brew my tea, and sit in the sunlight. We ate all our meals there - cozier than the dining room, which would seat a lot more. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay, and I would recommend this retreat home to others - Especially for summer!
PS We all used the hot tub, which was private and well- maintained. PPS We had a fabulous last night meal at the Double Musky!!
