Great couples Aurora getaway

5 of 5
Snow cat tour ($75 per person) up the hill at night was most excellent! Travis let us pop open the hatch on the cat and stand up for the ride. It was like riding in a tank and manning the turret. The northern lights were amazing from the dark summit. Wait for a clear and cold night though. It was -15 for us. Heated yurks at the top have warm coco and top Raman to warm you up free of charge! Lights danced above us wildly at 1:50am so be ready to stay up and on the look out. The springs were nice and the facility was clean overall. We were surprised at how reasonable the prices were for a captive audience. They really make you want to come back. Dining was like a rustic lodge but great fresh veggies grown onsite in green houses. We will be back someday again from Florida. This place was worth the trip.

Great for families!

5 of 5
We booked this cabin for a couple nights to celebrate my husbands birthday. We brought along our 3 young kids and we all had a blast! The toyo stove was nice and cozy warm, the kitchen had all we needed to make meals and best of all there was a tub of toys that entertained the heck out of my kiddos. Mark was super nice and informative. The cabin had a nice secluded feel but it was also an easy drive to Fairbanks. Great price.

Solar cabin stay

5 of 5
It was an interesting experience to "rough it" a bit and see how solar living can be sustainable! Composting toilet is weird, but usuable...missed the sink more than running water. Glad for the chance to try it and also be out of town a bit...moose tracks appeared in the driveway, but we didn't see the moose. Cabin had all the comforts, but the stairs to upper level was a bit challenging for seniors!Host was very helpful in managing stay and also gave tips on what to see and do... Museum of the North was amazing, esp. the architecture. Thanks!
