Wonderful secluded place for a get-a-way!

5 of 5
I really enjoyed this cabin. We definately lucked out in finding it on HomeAway. It was exactly what we were looking for and lots of room. It was nice and warm inside and no running out of hot water. The balcony was large which you can see from the pic. We went in January and considering we are from Austin, Tx, having a nice warm place was great. It definately was a winter wonderland when we went and it was so quite outside with only the noises of the forrest. Mark, the owner, was exceptionly wonderful and waited up for us to arrive (which was 1:30am) to show us around. He was also a great guide with all the fun things to do around Fairbanks and showed us a great location for view the Northern Lights (which was amazing). I definately would go back again.

Solar cabin stay

5 of 5
It was an interesting experience to "rough it" a bit and see how solar living can be sustainable! Composting toilet is weird, but usuable...missed the sink more than running water. Glad for the chance to try it and also be out of town a bit...moose tracks appeared in the driveway, but we didn't see the moose. Cabin had all the comforts, but the stairs to upper level was a bit challenging for seniors!Host was very helpful in managing stay and also gave tips on what to see and do... Museum of the North was amazing, esp. the architecture. Thanks!
