We stayed almost a week for a motorcycle festival, rode our bikes in had a group of 8 people total. The home is huge and will take your breath away. The scale is very large, tall ceilings, huge doorway and entry, staircase is a work of art. The photos can't capture how truly remarkable this place is from the moment you come through the simple unassuming gate down the long winding driveway to find the "Tool Shed" as the owner jokingly nicknamed it during the long 10 year construction period. You can tell heart and soul was lovingly poured into every inch of the gigantic home. Getting to know Syd was a pleasure, he is a fascinating man. We invited him to a group dinner one night and enjoyed his company very much. Our group had everything we needed and more. My husband and I enjoyed moonlight cruise across the large private lake in one of the canoes. There is always space to get away for a romantic glass of wine by the lake or a stroll across the beautiful bridge constructed in front of the home. Needless to say we made sure to reserve this property for the next two years on the spot! As I write this review I want to give the property justice and let everyone know exactly how insane it is.
As a woman who travels frequently to "interesting" places I do enjoy details so here you go... It has two very large bedrooms upstairs each with a full bath and large walk in shower. The bathroom only had a large curtain so if privacy is important to you sorry, I'd suggest you choose your travel companions carefully. If a family has each of the two very large bedrooms it would not be a problem at all. The main level has a large kitchen with eating area, formal dining that's open to a living area or parlor with on one half. The other half the main level has a full bathroom with shower, laundry room, very large living room with several sofas and tv. Behind the living area is tiled area that opens to the patio, it has a full size bed and yet another sofa. There is plenty of space for a large group to not be crowded and enjoy.
Thank you Syd for opening up this amazing place to visitors! We look forward to next year.
