This beach house is everything it claims to be. You can sit out on the deck or the screened-in porch and watch the waves hit the beach. Every day, at least twice a day, we saw dolphins, jumping and playing right before our eyes. I think the adults were as excited as the kids were! Plenty of room - there were 14 of us, stayed for a week. Clean beach, white sand, the boys loved playing and building sand castles. You can rent a canopy, to shade you from the sun. Took the ferry over to Dauphin Island and visited the aquarium there - that was fun, too! When you get tired of the beach, the pool is also clean and very close to the house. You need to drive about 30 minutes into town, but that was just fine with us. We wanted more of a peaceful retreat rather than the bustle of a public beach and traffic all around. But if you want shopping and good food, the drive into town is not bad at all. Kitchen is well equipped - with lots of pots/pans, dishes etc and the charcoal grill came in handy, too. We were sad to go! The owners were responsive to our questions both before and after arrival. Especially when we arrived and had NOT written down the code to get in the door! Everyone thought someone else had it! Thanks, Shawn for sharing your big house with us! It was a charmer!
