Fit the ad to a tee! Luxurious and cozy at the same time. Office/Guard answered all questions and check-in was a breeze...early too! We wanted away from the Gulf Shore tourist traps and traffic and we got it! Arrival from ferry was fun, in fact, we visited Fort Grant before we arrived. That was a great historical adventure! Also, hubby and I alone visited Bellingrath Gardens and it was superb!
Be sure to bring extra paper goods if you stay longer than a few days because they do not resupply! In fact, CST did not have any washing soap or dish washing soap at all which was strange since they want you to start the dishwasher and the washing machine when you leave but I was prepared with my own supply. I am sure if we had said something they would have brought us some as the office was very accommodating!
Travel to town for groceries was only a short drive of 11 miles. Prices seemed high for groceries and State tax is 10% on everything! We are from Texas and ours is only 8.25% and that is not on food---only extras! But it was vacation and we all had a blast! Golf cart was great to travel to beach. The bikes are serviceable and we used them as we could not all fit on the cart. Lots of beach toys and chairs even though we didn't know this and brought our own.
The frogs are crazy loud at night but we loved it all and would love to go back! We had 9 people....myself and hubby, daughter and husband with 3 year old and our son and his wife with 9 year old and 4 year old. The beds were all great and the baby bed in one room was great for our 3 yr old grandson.
We did eat at Tacky Jacks after we got off of the ferry from Dauphin Island and it was very good and not too pricey. Also we went to Billy's Seafood Marina and bought some wonderful cobia fish (recommended by them) and shrimp that we grilled back at CST and it was yummy!
I was afraid the condos would be overpowering beachside but they are only 3-4 stories and blended in nicely with the neighborhood. Hope I have helped those who stay after we did! Highly recommend it to all!
