Great Cottage near the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach

4 of 5
The two of us had a lovely time. Plenty of room, nice firm beds, large master bath with areas for two people, great closets. Plenty of cooking utensils, nice appliances and a full sized washer/dryer which held a lot. Plenty of hot water. The deck was nice with table and chairs for coffee or a meal. We opened the front and side door and let the breeze flow through. The area is quiet, about 10 minutes off Hwy 59. The neighbors were friendly. We also found a historic site down County Rd. 10 to 49 we visited. Old home built in 1883 which is open for tours. It was the Coles house till sold a few years ago. Further down off County Rd 49 all the shrimp boats tie up with their catch. So we were there daily buying these wonderful sweet tasting shrimp and crab. TVs were good and there were booklets about what was around. We ate at the Shrimp Basket in Gulf Shores one night and Ichiban on Hwy 59 one night. Both very good. Outlet Mall is huge. There is a small pool for summer visitors, and probably would have a few more people putting boats in the water or fishing off the pier in warmer weather. However, our Dec. 1-6 trip was 76 degrees, so we were quite comfortable. We drove over to Biloxi one day and spent the day at one of the casinos and had their buffet for lunch. About an hour and half each way. Fairhope is close by and we attended their Xmas parade Dec. 5th. It was a pleasant stay, we would do it again.
