Music fans - head to Austin,Texas for the Austin City Limits Festival, a three-day outdoor festival featuring over 130 bands - and not your run-of-the-mill local garage bands that will never sell more than a few albums, either. This is a can't miss for music lovers.
Named for the famous Austin City Limits show that airs on PBS, the well-known music fest attracts the Indie scene’s most valuable players.
ACL takes place in the city’s Zilker Park , an oasis of green in the city’s downtown district. Make a vacation of it, and stay in a downtown house or condo near the park where you can enjoy more space to spread out, an easy commute, and proximity to the coolest things to do in Austin. ACL isn't just for 20-somethings - Austin Kiddie Limits and kid-friendly activities provide fun for families, and exhibit tents, food trailers and the SoCo Art Market and aftershows around Austin make the weekend more than just a music festival. Come see why Austin is the Live Music Capitol of the World at its annual tribute to great music, with a history of giving musicians a chance to make it big.According to the ACL website, most ACL 2012 tickets are sold out, like the 1-day and 3-day passes. But VIP tix, Official Aftershows tickets and Platinum Passes are still available.
