Enjoy Some Shopping
While you don't necessarily go on a vacation just to go to stores, you have a pretty robust selection of different neat things to check out in Lake Cumberland. Not only do you have a variety of different flea markets where you just never know what you will find. You also have Pioneer Antiques, where what you find just might be older than you are. Enjoy Some Eats
Naturally, you can always just go fishing in the lake to get your meals. But if you are hungry for something that you don't have to fight for awhile, you can grab some concessions at the 27 Drive-In (and take in a movie on one of its two screens). All of these things are pretty conveniently located only a short drive from the Lake Cumberland house rentals. Now that we've talked about what there is to eat, we should cover how you can work up that appetite.
Fast and Furious
First off, you can go take in a round or two of golf over at the Links at Lily Creek Resort, and see if you can justify your handicap. Then you can go to the Mini Indy Kart Track Family Fun Center and race your friends around the track for a little while. Just because you are in a place which is renowned for its natural beauty does not mean that you have to abandon all of the fun parts of civilization.
Getting Back to Nature
Out of all the things to do in Lake Cumberland and its surrounding area, the most impressive are the ones that human beings had very little to do with creating. You can take a long hike over by Yahoo Falls and check out what Mother Nature can carve out of rock when you give her enough time. You can also enjoy the water at several different places, such as the Conley Bottom Marina and Burnside Marina. Naturally, you can also take in a great deal of natural beauty at the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. There is also plenty of hiking, swimming and fishing to be done, too.
