Burlington, VT's First Night Burlington is a New Year's celebration you won't want to miss. Attracting thousands every year, this celebration is one of the most renowned New Year's Eve parties around. If you're in the area or looking for a great place to spend your winter vacation, this is the perfect celebration to attend.
This Year's Celebration
Scheduled to be held from
noon to midnight on December 31 , you can enjoy the spectacle at a variety of locations throughout Burlington. If you buy your tickets beforehand, admission is $18 for adults, $5 for kids ages 3-12, free for children under 3, and $39 for a family pack. After December 30, prices will increase to $25 for adults and can be purchased on-site at
First Night Burlington Office from 10 a.m. to midnight,
Burlington Town Center from 10 a.m. to p.m., and
Memorial Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Buy a one price button for entrance into all attractions throughout the night except those held at Memorial Auditorium. The shows held at Memorial Auditorium will cost $3 each.
Things to Do
Live entertainment is available for everyone, no matter what your preferences are. Show choirs, jazz combos, comedy shows, art exhibits and more will be available across the city. You can also participate in face painting, craft projects, and dancing throughout the night as well as watch a spectacular firework display at 6 p.m. and midnight. Also, enjoy the annual parade taking place on
Church Street .
Volunteering
Volunteer work helps make First Night Burlington a success. This is the perfect opportunity for those needing volunteer hours for school and scholarships, or simply if you enjoy volunteer work. As you participate in the volunteer program, you will receive a free First Night button, which allows you access to activities before and after your shift and access to the volunteer lounge, which provides you with free soup and hot cocoa. Shifts are very flexible, making it simple to attend the performances and events you enjoy. Jobs available include site aide, button seller, art assistant, set up crew, volunteer lounge helper, office assistant, and pickup and delivery. Volunteers are also needed to march in
the Dancing Dragon Parade .
