Coachella Music Festival
Coachella is the crown jewel of the music festival year. Known for its eclectic music and multiple events, it is the one festival everyone should attend, and if rumors are true, it will be the best one yet. We've got Indio, Palm Desert, and other nearby vacation houses to help you plan out your week of fun, music, food and activities.

Coachella Conga – And Other Musical Genres
The festival is different from many other music festivals that focus on just one type of music. Instead, the organizers, Goldenvoice, aim to include as many genres of music as possible. In the past, organizers featured electronic music, hip hop, indie, rock, and rap. While you are unlikely to find a conga band, you may just find something new, something old, and maybe even something blue. Last year's line up included Erykah Badu, Cee Lo Green, Joy Orbison, Cold Cave and many more.
It's Where It's At
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held each year in Indio, California at the Empire Polo Club. The venue is home to many different stages, including the Sahara Tent, Coachella Stage, Gobi Tent, Outdoor Theater, and the Mojave Theater. It is important to note that the festival is in the middle of the desert, so visitors should dress for temperatures that may reach into the low 100's, but keep in mind there will be a drastic temperature drop as the sun sets. With more than 75,000 spectators every day, the festival draws a lot of attention – making it 'hot' in more than one way.
A Week of Down Time
Because this year's festival will be held over two weekends, you will need something to do – and Indio offers tons of options. The area has several excellent golf courses, most notably the Bermuda Dunes Country Club and the Eagle Falls Golf Club. For those looking for a bit of culture, a stop at the Coachella Valley Museum and Cultural Center is in order. The Gargan Optics Observatory is the perfect place to star gaze with someone special. Finish the day off with a stop at the famous Frankie's Fresh Fish restaurant.
Coachella isn't for the weak at heart – with two weekends of music and art and a gorgeous city to explore, a trip to this festival is an adventure!
