Every fall, the vibrant foliage gives travelers a great reason to hit the road. Another perfect excuse to plan a trip is fall festivals. Pack up the car and head for Seven Springs, Pennsylvania
this fall to attend Seven Springs Oktoberfest. This annual festival in the mountains includes music, arts, crafts, family entertainment, food, and drinks. You will also get the chance to view the fall foliage during a scenic chairlift ride. Many first-time visitors to Seven Springs for AutumnFest wind up returning in the winter to give local skiing a try.
The 2012 Festival
In 2012, the Seven Springs Oktoberfest ( also called AutumnFest
) is scheduled for October 22 and 23
. Over the course of this weekend, guests can take family photographs in the pumpkin patch, browse through the arts and crafts bazaar, or listen to some musical entertainment. There's also a kids' zone to entertain the little ones with performances from Cupcake the Clown
and a Magic Show
. Kids will also enjoy arts and crafts, a hay bale maze, and climbing a rock wall. While some versions of Oktoberfest are focused on a German-style beer festival, this is a family-friendly festival that celebrates the best of the fall season.
The Fine Print
Planning on attending the Seven Springs Oktoberfest? There are a few things to know in advance. This is a free festival, but there is a parking fee of $3 a day. One of the best parts of the festival is a wide range of food from local restaurants and bakeries. You have two choices when it comes to eating at the festival: you can purchase items a la carte or, for those with bigger appetites, you can opt for the AutumnFest buffet
. For a price of $21.95 for adults or $10.98 for kids, this buffet includes roast beef, chicken, maple glazed ham, assorted salads, vegetables, desserts, and more.
In addition to the scenic chairlift rides, another highlight of AutumnFest in Seven Springs is the music. Throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday a number of musicians take the stage to entertain the crowds. In 2012, the music kicks off at 11 a.m. and continues throughout the afternoon. Some bands that are scheduled to appear include the Todd Jones Band
, Pop Rocks
, John Petrarca
, the Vagrants
, and Scott Blasey of the Clarks
. Musicians will appear on several stages throughout the festival, including the Main Paver Stage, the Foggy Goggle Stage, and the Paver Circle Stage.
What to Expect from AutumnFest

, Foggy Goggle restaurant
, and Tahoe Lodge
. In addition, families can expect entertainment for kids of all ages. From jumping in the Bounce House
to riding the Alpine Slide
, Seven Springs has lots of things for kids to do.
