pittsburgh renaissance festivalThe 2012 Festival

The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival is held over several weekends in late August and September. In 2012, the festivities kick off on August 25 and conclude on September 30 . The festival is open on Saturday and Sunday only, with the exception of Labor Day Monday when the fun will continue. With each year, the festivities grow more elaborate. For example, to enter the 2012 festival, guests will march through a new castle front gate. The day will be filled with jousting, shopping at the crafts marketplace, and enjoying food straight from the Renaissance.

Attending the Festival

If you're planning on stepping back in time with the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival in Pittsburgh, there are a few things to know. The opening hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on each Saturday and Sunday through September, and also on Labor Day Monday. The Renaissance Festival is also a rain or shine event - so bring an umbrella or a poncho if it looks like rain. There are no pets allowed at the festival and parking is free.
