Center City Restaurant Week is actually a two-week event, lasting from Jan 20 to Jan 25 and Jan 27 to Feb 21 ; the name merely reflects the fact that “restaurant week” is catchier and easier to remember than “restaurant fortnight.” Over the two weeks more than 100 of the finest restaurants on Restaurant Row and elsewhere in Center City (the downtown neighborhoods of Philadelphia) offer mouth-watering multi-course meals for as little as $20–35 (alcohol, sales tax and gratuity not included). About half of these establishments will also offer three-course lunches in the twenty-dollar range. These are prix fixe meals, meaning that for a fixed price, you can choose from certain menu items.The restaurants that participate in Philadelphia Center City Restaurant Week are some of the best loved in Philly, and with more than 100 of them to choose from, your choices are almost overwhelming. There are steakhouses, traditional Italian kitchens, Japanese sushi bars, seafood places and much more.
